Tashan Resistance War Memorial Hall
Tashan Resistance War Memorial Hall is located in Tashan Township, Lianshan District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province. It is 12 kilometers away from Huludao City in the south, 30 kilometers away from Jinzhou in the north, 5 kilometers away from Bijia mountain, 2 kilometers away from the seashore, and 0.5 kilometers away from Shenshan railway. In December 2016, it was selected into the list of national red tourist attractions.
Detailed introduction
In 1963, the martyrs memorial tower was built on the top of the mountain, and the revolutionary cultural relics exhibition hall was built on the east side of the square. In 1998, an additional martyr cemetery was built.
The archway style glazed Mountain Gate is waiting for tourists to climb dozens of steps to the bottom of the tower. The tower is 12.5 meters high, with a rosette carved on the base and gilded characters: the revolutionary martyrs of the Tashan resistance war are immortal! The top edge of the tower is carved with a circle of auspicious clouds, with five pointed stars and three flags on each side. The inscriptions in the North narrate the process of the Tashan campaign. Standing in front of the tower, you can see the battlefields of Baitai mountain, Yinma River, railway bridge and Dayu mountain. Still have a good view. Walking into the cultural relics exhibition hall, the flags of the four heroes are dazzling. On the front of the wall is President Jiang Zemin's inscription: "carry forward the Tashan spirit and strengthen the all-round construction of the army! "There are battlefield sand table models in the museum, displaying various weapons, medals, letters of determination, people's support front-line equipment, etc. These cultural relics vividly and truly represent history. Behind every relic, there is a revolutionary experience. In the mausoleum behind the pagoda, there is a tall tablet engraved with the names of the martyrs. There are five tombs in the front row, which are the ashes of the generals who commanded the battle. Each has a stone tablet to record the life of the general. There is an endless stream of people visiting the memorial hall and paying homage to the martyrs. Since its establishment in 1963, the park has received more than 1 million visitors.
The cemetery covers an area of 0.64 square kilometers, and the ground buildings include the monument of "the revolutionary martyrs of the Tashan resistance war are immortal" inscribed by Chen Yun. The height of the tower is 12.5 meters and the base is 150 square meters. In 1988, according to the long cherished wish of Wu Kehua, Hu Qicai, Li fuze, Jiao Yushan (Mo Wenhua and general Ouyang Wen were buried in 2003, and general Jiang Minfeng in 2005), the ashes were buried in Tashan to be with their comrades in arms who once fought. In order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the victory of Tashan, a 400 square meter cemetery was built behind the memorial tower. In front of the tombstone of the Eight Generals is a marble tablet inscribed by Zhang Wannian, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of the people's Republic of China. Behind the tablet is a joint burial tomb of 747 martyrs who died in that year. Their names are engraved on the back of the tablet. And 747 martyrs' compound tombs completed in 1998, as well as the tombstones of eight old generals, including Wu Kehua, commander of the fourth column. It covers an area of 400 square meters and is made of granite. The secondary platform is 1900 square meters, and the square is 6100 square meters, all of which are paved with cement bricks. The exhibition hall is 400 square meters (expanded in 1982) and the conference room is 180 square meters, all of which are one story bungalows. The main entrance of the cemetery is a archway gate, which is the "Tashan Sniper War Memorial" written by Liu Huaqing.
present situation
After renovation, Tashan cultural relics exhibition hall adopted modern high-tech technologies such as sound, light and electricity, and increased a large number of cultural relics display. The exhibition will be reopened free of charge in the first half of 2012. And continue to collect revolutionary cultural relics. With the approval of the Civil Affairs Department, the memorial also built a revolutionary soldier cemetery in the courtyard, which specially accepted the veterans of the former four vertical, eleven vertical, Jehol independent division 4 and independent division 6 who had fought in the Tashan blocking war. After passing away, they can be buried here with approval. There are more than 30 cultural relics and more than 200 pictures in the collection.
At present, it is a provincial cultural relic protection unit, a national patriotism education base, a national defense education base in Liaoning Province, and a teaching center of the Youth League Central Committee and Beijing Education Commission. In 2001, it was awarded the national patriotism education demonstration base by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee. In October 2004, Tashan Resistance War Memorial Hall was listed among 100 red tourist attractions in China.
