Wanghai Temple
Wanghai temple, located in Longgang District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, is an integral part of Huludao island. It is one of the small cities along the Bohai Bay in China.
Wanghai temple is adjacent to the south side of Huludao Peninsula, with mountains on the East and west sides and a direct connection to the coast of Bohai Sea in the south. It was first named after the "Wanghai Temple" on the mountain.
Brief introduction to temples
On the northeast side of Wanghai temple is "shanchengzi", which used to be a garrison base in the Ming Dynasty. Later, most of the residents were fishermen. On its east side, it is adjacent to Huludao island on the other side of the mountain. The island, that is, the location of Huludao port. After the victory of the Northeast campaign, this place was liberated with the whole territory of Jinxi on November 10, 1948. On the mountain of the island, there are Zhang Xueliang's villa and the monument to build the harbor written by Zhang Xueliang himself in 1930. The island port was also the site where Jiang Jieshi had been sailing when he fled after the defeat of the Northeast campaign. (I do not agree with the simultaneous interpreting of Jiang Jieshi's visit to Taiwan at this point.
Related allusions
In the early morning of February 25, 1949, the KMT cruiser "Chongqing", which revolted in Wusongkou, Shanghai, galloped to the port of Huludao. Under the bombing and blockade of Kuomintang, American aircraft and submarines, the ship sank in the harbor on March 19.
Six of the officers and soldiers of the uprising died in the fight back. The tombs of Han Zhiming, Liu Fangpu, Shen guigen and Huang Hanmin have been moved to Yingshan cemetery, Longgang District, Huludao. In addition, two martyrs, shideji and Qiu Biao, died when they were transferred to Jinzhou hospital due to serious injuries at that time and were buried in Jinzhou martyrs' cemetery. Bohai Shipyard in the island is a large Shipyard with military industrial nature in Northeast China, which began to be built in 1955. On April 8, 1968, Chairman Mao Zedong issued a special military manufacturing engineering document for this shipyard, so it was once named 6848 shipyard.
About five kilometers northwest of Huludao is China's largest nonferrous metal smelting base Huludao Zinc Plant. Its predecessor was: Huludao smelter, which was built by Manchuria Lead Mine Co., Ltd. in May 1937 in mazhangfang during the occupation of Northeast China. After liberation, it was renamed 401 plant, and 30 years later, it was renamed Huludao Zinc Plant.
Reconstruction period
Wanghai temple is located on the slope of Sandaogou on the west side of the beach. According to relevant historical records, the temple was built in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, and was damaged in Japanese hands during the Japanese War of aggression against China in 1938. As a result, "Wanghai Temple" has become a place name with its own name but no real name for decades. In 2000, Shi Ansheng and Shi ande, the two masters of Changchun dizang temple, traveled all over the northeast provinces to fulfill their master's wishes. Finally, they decided to restore and rebuild the former Wanghai temple in Longgang District of Huludao, and finally the name of Wanghai temple was settled again.
The temple is located on the steep wall and high hill, hidden in the jungle; it is close to the mountains in the West and overlooks the sea in the south, which is very solemn. On the monument of merit and virtue of the temple, there is such a five character poem:
A star in the sky awakens the ancient temple in the mountains. The clouds sealed the door to thank the guests, and the wind and waves spread the Scriptures.
The moon is white and the lamp is green. The monk's family is idle for half a day, and the Bohai Sea is a golden rope. .
Historical overview
In history, especially before the Qing Dynasty, the peninsula east of Jinxi (later Jinxi County, today's Huludao City), including mazhangfang, wanghaisi and Daoli, was extremely sparsely populated. Except for a few hunters and local fishermen, few people visited here. After the Qing Dynasty won the world, most of the army had no more war, so they "put weapons into the warehouse and let horses go to Nanshan". Lots and lots of troops and horses were driven to this place for breeding (this is the origin of a place named "mazhanfang" in this place), and the "retired" soldiers and their families became the first group of immigrants and pioneers here.
In the following ten years, due to some measures of the Qing government and the famine in the mainland, people from Shandong and other places, as well as a large number of vagrants and refugees, also came here to make a living, forming a large-scale influx of immigrants in this peninsula.
Most of these immigrants, the workers who were later called in by Huludao smelter, and the successive immigrants in the early decades of the founding of the people's Republic of China, were scattered in Yuhuangge, qitun, Cishan, Daochi, Baima temple, mazhangfang, Wanghai temple, Daoli and other places, making the peninsula no longer a lonely place. But in the early days of the people's Republic of China, the residents of Wanghai temple and the island were still very rare.
More and more prosperous
Due to the construction of the shipyard, a large number of professional and technical personnel and workers were transferred from Shanghai, Dalian and other places to settle here in the late 1950s. In addition, a large number of workers were recruited from high schools and technical secondary schools in the late 1960s, which made the situation of the residents here more prosperous.
The coast of wanghaisi is steep from east to west and encircled; the beach in the middle is flat and wide, and slowly extends to the sea, forming a natural bathing place. When summer comes, tourists come everywhere, and fishermen's boats often dock here. If the tide is going to ebb, you can also step on the reef, bypass the Western cliff and find another hidden flat beach. Although it belongs to the same sea area as the port on the island, which is only a few kilometers away, the port on the island is an ice free port. The coast of wanghaisi always freezes in winter and sometimes extends several kilometers into the sea. From the steep cliff, we can clearly identify the traces of geographical changes in ancient times.
In particular, the western mountain section is more obviously exposed to the bluestone zone formed by the lava flow after the volcanic eruption. According to the intervals of the multi-layer bluestone sections and the colors of the lava mixed in the intervals of different ages and the conditions of other rocks, we can see a spot of very active geology in the Bohai Bay hundreds of millions or even billions of years ago. Because there have been many underwater volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, resulting in local surface collapse, edge arch, forming a number of oblique cliff.
In addition, sedimentary rock geology can be seen everywhere in the whole peninsula, and shell attachments can be found on some Alpine rocks. This is enough to prove that in ancient times, the peninsula was in a vast ocean.
