Brief introduction to temples
Since its establishment in 1994, Zhongtai temple has been rebuilt from 1994 to 2000.
From a distance, the architecture of Zhongtai temple looks like a man of practice sitting in the mountains. However, the old monk Jue and the famous architect Li Zuyuan praised the architectural connotation of Zhongtai Chan temple for its integration of Chinese and western construction methods, the use of the insight method of "straight into Buddha" and the gradual cultivation spirit of "the end of the cause", as well as the style of the ancient jungle, the integration of art, academia, religion and culture without losing the Zen style. Besides the architecture, Zhongtai Chan temple is appreciated The hardware and equipment are also quite perfect, including Zen hall, four heavenly kings hall, Bodhisattva hall, three Buddha Hall, lecture hall, Zhike room, Daliao hall and Zhaitang hall for believers to visit and use.
main hall
The four heavenly kings are the deities who protect Buddhism. They are "the eastern Heavenly King holding the kingdom", "the southern Heavenly King increasing the kingdom", "the Western heavenly king with wide eyes" and "the northern Heavenly King hearing more". The statues hold magic weapons symbolizing fengdiao, Yushun, Guotai and Min'an respectively. The four heavenly kings hall is the main hall of Zhongtai Buddhist temple. Maitreya Bodhisattva is worshipped in the center of the hall, and there is a body of armor behind Maitreya Bodhisattva Wei Tuo Bodhisattva is a kind of "Wei Tuo Bodhisattva" who holds a sword together. The four heavenly kings are carved in Shanxi black granite around the hall. The height of the Four Heavenly Kings is about 12 meters, and the weight is more than 100 tons. Each heavenly king has four heads, symbolizing one is four and four is one. The solemn eyes of the four heavenly kings are shocking.
Located on the second floor of the main building, the Mahatma Hall of Zhongtai temple is accessible from the four heavenly kings hall. The Mahatma hall is the main hall where Buddha statues are worshipped in the Buddhist jungle dojo. A Sakyamuni Buddha carved from Indian red granite sits in the center of the hall. The Buddha has great wisdom and can subdue evil resentment, so it is called "Mahatma".
The overall space design of the main hall is mainly red and gray, which symbolizes the time and scenery of Buddha's appearance in the five turbid and evil times to provide for all living beings. The venerable Duowen Ananda and the venerable ascetic Kaya on both sides represent the spirit of practice.
The dizang Hall of Zhongtai Buddhist temple is dedicated to the Bodhisattva of the king of Tibet. The statue is carved from Brazilian white jade and sits on the lotus terrace with six pictures. The six totems are presented in relief. The whole back wall is carved with the full text of "the Bodhisattva of the king of Tibet's original wish, merits and virtues" with more than 10000 words, which is the largest in Taiwan.
Entering the hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas on the 16th floor of Zhongtai temple, you can pick up a space of three or nineteen meters high, which makes you suddenly feel bright as soon as you enter the hall. Ten Thousand Buddhas and eighty-eight Buddhas are made of copper. They are listed on the walls around them. The wall of Ten Thousand Buddhas is resplendent, so the hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas gets its name.
The large curtain glass and the seven Buddha pagoda of pharmacists are the solemn and majestic elaborate construction of the ten thousand Buddha Hall, making the whole hall like the pure land of the ten Buddhas.
traditional architecture
Pharmacist's seven Buddha pagoda is a traditional large wooden work. It is made of exquisite workmanship without iron nails and tenons. It shows the architectural characteristics of traditional cornices and brackets. The pharmacist's seven Buddha pagoda, which is installed in the center of the ten thousand Buddha Hall, is more stable and solemn in the ancient bronze color of Myanmar teak and the faint fragrance of teak.
The location of the seven pagodas is the center of the central axis of Zhongtai temple. Looking inward through the large curtain glass of lotus petals, the classical solemnity of the whole tower is clearly visible. The overall architectural appearance of Zhongtai Buddhist temple is the appearance of the Buddhist stupa. The seven Buddha pagoda is built in the center of the temple. There are pagodas in the pagoda, forming the architectural characteristics of "tower in the tower".
It shows the holy land of the Buddhas in the Lotus Sutra: "in front of the Buddha, there are seven pagodas, five hundred from ten days high and two hundred and fifty from ten days long, pouring out from the ground and living in the air At that time, there was a loud voice in the pagoda, sighing that it was good. Sakyamuni Buddha was able to teach Bodhisattva Dharma with equal wisdom, which was protected by the Buddha, and which was a wonderful Dharma Sutra
Layout structure
Each layer of the pagoda is dedicated to seven copper pharmacists: good name auspicious King Tathagata, Baoyue Zhiyan Weiyin King Tathagata, golden no scale Baoguang wonderful action achievement Tathagata, worry free victory auspicious Tathagata, Fahai Leiyin Tathagata, Fahai Shenghui game supernatural power Tathagata, and pharmacist liuliguang Tathagata; pharmacist seven Buddhas also become seven bow medical King, each living in the eastern four Henghe sand and even ten Henghe sand In our world, each of us is willing to do and educate others.
The full name of pharmacist Buddha is liuliguang Tathagata, which means the great king of medicine and the great king of medicine. It is because the pharmacist Buddha observes the diseases of all living beings with great compassion, makes 12 great wishes, and vows to save and extricate everything, so as to make the body and mind peaceful and far away from the national boundaries, physical and mental hardship and other difficult situations. It is named "pharmacist Tathagata" because of its willingness and virtue. On the other hand, the title of "Liuli" refers to the bright image of Liuli itself, which indicates that the Buddha's words and deeds are transparent and clear, righteous and bright.
In addition, the pharmacist Buddha made a vow to cultivate the body of colored glass and illuminate the three haves to reveal the original Buddha nature of all living beings. The Sutra of merit and virtue of the pharmacist Tathagata says: "may my body be as bright as colored glass in the afterlife, when I get Bodhi, I will be pure inside and outside, bright and vast, lofty in merit and virtue, and be good at settling the flame net, solemn and bright in the moon.
Related allusions
All living beings in the nether world know that Meng kaixiao is the first day of his life, and they will do whatever they like On the wall of the pharmacist's seven Buddha pagoda, there is a manual line carving technique, which reproduces the 500 arhat statues of Tianning Temple rubbings. Because the original arhat statues of Tianning Temple were destroyed in the disaster of zhurong in the late Yuan Dynasty, today's statues are made by rubbings, and now they are re presented by line carving, which highlights the ancient monuments with the techniques of modern artists Now in the world, it pays new life for the historical sites collected by Buddhism, which shows the great success of the pagoda.
Outside the wall, the scriptures of Vajra Prajna Prajna Prajna Prajna Sutra are engraved on the outer walls of the pagoda. Under the copper plate and titanium plating etching, the ancient copper and gold words convey the deep meaning of Buddha's compassion everywhere. In this way, the three treasures of Buddha, Dharma and monk surround the inside and outside of the seven Buddha pagoda of the pharmacist, passing on the Bodhi's great wish that the three treasures protect all living beings, and all living beings protect the three treasures, which is on the right When you walk around the pagoda, you are willing to spread Bodhi from generation to generation.
Bronze Buddha
Standing beside the seven pagodas of pharmacists and looking around the hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, the wall of Ten Thousand Buddhas is made up of twenty thousand copper pharmacists and eighty-eight Buddhas. The Buddhas and Buddhas reflect each other, just like a splendid pure land of Buddhism.
The bronze statue of Buddha, a pharmacist, can only be finished by hand. It takes more than two years to complete all the statues. If you look at Ten Thousand Buddhas from a close distance, you can see the soft curves and the ancient and thick chisels, which are displayed in the Buddha's eyes. At the V-shaped openings on both sides of the hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, there are 108 statues of Buddhas finished by glass sandblasting. It is hoped that those who encourage them to practice like Dharma, break 108 obstacles and move towards the holy stream.
Looking up, under the base of the stepped lotus platform on the 23rd floor, there are forty-two glass sandblasted Buddha statues, which reveal all the Bodhisattvas in ten directions to the visitors. Through the practice of forty-two levels, such as ten faiths, ten dwellings, ten actions, ten turns, equal senses and wonderful senses, they achieve the holy fruits. At the moment when the heart holds the palm of the hand and the ceremony is around, we are willing to share the same heart and the same will with the Buddhas of the ten directions, to embody the deep compassion and great wish of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, to carry out the practice, to achieve the Buddha's fruit, and to transform the boundless masses.
Optical fiber technology, which has the safety characteristics of light transmission, non-conductive, low-temperature transmission, and no fear of water, is a high-tech product of modern optoelectronics. The backlight of more than 20000 copper Buddhist pharmacists in the ten thousand Buddha Hall is the ingenious use of optical fiber, which provides the effect of safety and power saving. It presents a soft backlight of color change for a bronze Buddhist pharmacist. At night, the optical fiber backlight and the optical fiber ceiling above 39 meters, the soft light and the changing colors, make the bright hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, presenting the pure land of Buddhism, the precious glass and the solemn wealth of thousands of colors. Looking up at the ceiling of the top floor of the ten thousand Buddha Hall, a steady and soft optical fiber shimmer is above 39 meters away
