Chengxiang Hall
The ancestral hall of the prime minister is located in Zhuge village, Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province
essential information
During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, Hu Fengpei, the prefect, built his ancestral hall for the worship of Zhuge Marquis Wu. In the first year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, the temple and liubeichi area were destroyed by war, and rebuilt in the sixth year of Xianfeng (1856). Xin Chou mu (October 1901), governor of Xuzhou, inscribed the plaque "prime minister's ancestral hall" and the door couplet "knowing that Yan de has declined, three Gu Junen went out to pacify the critical situation, after all, the great name and great decayed mind, and the Prime Minister of two rivers came to worship the temple". The original trace still exists in the gate of the temple. Guandi temple is the back hall of the prime minister's temple, but it has its own courtyard. Inside the hall, there are statues of Guan Yu, Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. Outside the hall, the ancient stone pagodas and furnaces are surrounded by green smoke, and the ancient stone drums, stone lions and stone ornaments stand aloof.
The temple collects more than ten plaques and couplets from Emperor Huizong Zhao Ji of Song Dynasty, Emperor Shenzong Zhu Yijun of Ming Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong, Emperor Xianfeng and Emperor Tongzhi.
brief introduction
The prime minister's ancestral hall was also built in memory of Zhuge Liang. It is 100 meters away from the grand hall and covers an area of 1400 square meters. Sitting in the East and facing the west, the plane is arranged in the shape of "Hui". There are 52 rooms, which are composed of foyer, atrium, veranda, bell and Drum Tower and Xiangtang. Temple carved beams, painted buildings, doors, windows, railings and other components are carved fine, beautiful. The atrium is the most wonderful part of the ancestral hall. The four big columns in the middle are made of superior pine, cypress, tung tree and toon wood, which means "pine and cypress share the same spring" and pray for the prosperity of the family from generation to generation. There are seven verandahs on both sides of the atrium, which are used to shape the outstanding people of Zhuge's descendants, to inspire them to work hard and make a great achievement. From the veranda up the stairs, there are two floors of bells and drums on both sides. At the end of the ancestral hall is the hall of enjoyment. The statue of Zhuge Liang is made in the middle of the temple. It is more than 2 meters high. On both sides of the temple are the statues of Zhuge Zhan, Zhuge Shang, Guan Xing and Zhang Bao.
In addition to the above-mentioned two halls, there are many ancient buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Zhuge Town, which are arranged in rows, like bright pearls scattered in every corner of the town. Such ancient residential communities with unique layout, large scale, early age, large number, complex types, fine architecture and well preserved are rare not only in Jiangnan, but also in China, and have high historical and scientific research value.
