The name comes from Jiaxing Zicheng, which was built in 231, the third year of Wu Huanglong in the Three Kingdoms. It has a history of more than 1700 years. Zicheng has a circumference of two Li and ten steps, a height and thickness of one Zhang and two feet, covering an area of 75000 square meters. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Luocheng was built outside Zicheng, so the original city was renamed Zicheng (in addition, Zicheng was formerly called Zicheng, but later renamed Zicheng).
Sub city structure
From the Three Kingdoms to the Qing Dynasty, Zicheng was the seat of Jiaxing (Xiuzhou) government or military administration. According to the records of Jiaxing government by Guangxu, the main gate of Ziqiang in the Yuan Dynasty had Liqiao, and in the Song Dynasty, the Tianwang hall, arrow tower and other buildings were built on the city. The qiaolou in Zicheng was rebuilt in 1908. It is a brick and wood structure three Ying building with double eaves on the top of the mountain, fancy roof ridge, four water ridges, hairpin Ruyi head, carved dragon head at the corner of the berm, and corridor cornice. Existing sub cities

Old Zicheng
In the old days, there was a Jindai bridge outside the Zicheng, and catalpa trees were planted beside the river. The scenery was beautiful. Liu Yuxi of Tang Dynasty, Zhang Xian of Song Dynasty, Shen Kuo, Lu menglao and so on all had well-known works. Lu menglao's poem "Piyun Pavilion" says: "the towering railings at the corner of the city see the end of the sea, and the curtain of the spring breeze is warm. The cloud and smoke break across the broad Cangjiang River, with a cluster of buildings of 100000.
In June 1860, Chen Bingwen, king of hearing and Chen kunshu, King protector of Li Xiucheng, loyal king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, occupied Jiaxing. In the second year, Chen Bingwen built Qijin king of hearing mansion. In 1864, Jiaxing was conquered by Pan Dingxin and Cheng Xueqi, and the project was not completed. In the 1980s, eight murals of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were found in Yao's old house on Zhongshan Road.
