The permanent exhibition of the Science Museum has about 500 exhibits, among which the most eye-catching is the 22 meter high energy shuttle, which is the largest of its kind in the world. The exhibits are distributed in 18 exhibition areas, covering a wide range of subjects. About 70% of the exhibits can be operated by visitors, integrating participation in learning.
The Science Museum has different science exhibits from the ground floor to the third floor. The underground lobby is mainly used to show some popular technologies, such as optics. It is equipped with an optical workbench. Visitors can use mirrors, lenses and prisms to carry out simple optical experiments. On the first floor, there are computer-based exhibits, which introduce the structure and application of computers and artificial intelligence. Visitors can try a variety of multimedia computer software in the computer laboratory. It can also control the movement of the mouse by voice.
The exhibition hall on the second floor is mainly based on daily science and technology. You can learn to fly in the flight simulator and fly over Hong Kong. Finally, in the hall on the third floor, it introduces various energy saving methods, and analyzes the problems caused by the use of fossil fuels in detail.
Underground exhibition hall
Mechanics Hall
This department explains the relationship between force and motion. Here, you can lie on the nail and experience the taste of many sharp nails. You can also take a closer look at how the pinball gradually loses energy as it hits the board.
Acoustic Hall
The exhibition introduces the basic principles of acoustics and its interesting features. The styrofoam beads in the "standing wave" exhibit dance with the music due to the vibration of the air by the loudspeaker, showing the peaks of standing wave. When the frequency of the sound is just the same as the vibration frequency of the "dancing ring", it will produce resonance and make the ring jump. As long as you wave your hand on the electronic circuit of "Magic Music" and change the vibration frequency of the circuit, you can play a wonderful movement.
Mirror world
I believe that you will look in the mirror every day and tidy up your appearance, but it's not easy in "mirror world", because the images you see in the mirror may surprise you.
Most of the exhibits in the exhibition hall are composed of multiple flat mirrors. The original ordinary mirror, as long as through clever design and different combination, will produce a peculiar reflection effect.
life sciences
The exhibition is divided into eight parts, which respectively introduce different topics of life science, including: "physical challenge", "health and medicine", "skin, bone and muscle", "viscera", "brain and sensation", "growth and reproduction", "plants and animals" and "cell and genetics".

Computer Hall
Introduce the application of computer. You can try a variety of multimedia computer software in the computer lab.
Magnetoelectric corridor
Through a series of exquisitely designed interactive exhibits, this exhibition shows the various phenomena of magnetism and electricity, and explores the nature and basic principles of electricity and magnetism in a relaxed way. The contents are simple, suitable for young and old people. The exhibits can be divided into five themes:
How electrical appliances work: introduce the working principles of batteries, bulbs, motors and generators that produce electricity.
Understanding current: let visitors explore the nature of electricity from the perspective of physics. Through simple experiments, the exhibits make visitors realize the main effect of current and the basic principle of the circuit.
Electricity and life: lead visitors to start a journey of electricity from home, track the source of electricity, and understand how power plants deliver electricity to their homes. In addition, it will also introduce the common sense of daily use of electricity, and show how the human body conducts electricity. You can also taste the electric shock in a safe situation.
Wonderful magnetism: various exhibits related to magnetism are displayed, introducing the interaction of magnetic fields and electromagnetic phenomena.
Artificial lightning: show the phenomenon of gas discharge.
The huge landmarks in the exhibition gallery - batteries, light bulbs, motors and sockets - allow visitors to easily identify the theme and watch the exhibits of their respective groups.
Occupation = health Gallery
This paper introduces the safety awareness and measures of various industries, and encourages the cultivation and practice of occupational safety concept. When you enter the simulated construction site of "falling from the sky", you can experience the thrilling feeling of being hit by falling objects, and understand the importance of preventive measures. The personal protective equipment displayed in the "last line of defense" can reduce the degree of injury in the event of an accident. You can also understand the importance of hearing protection through "the way of hearing protection", and learn the correct posture of carrying heavy objects from "the beginning of lifting heavy objects".
Science Information Gallery
Provide up-to-date scientific and technological information, introduce local scientific achievements and popular scientific projects, so as to arouse public interest in science. Located in the exhibition hall on the second floor of the science museum, covering an area of about 50 square meters, "research focus" mainly introduces the research plans of local universities, including the latest scientific and technological developments, especially the new discoveries of great significance to science and society. "Science window" introduces some science and technology topics in detail with video programs. Kexun.com provides a number of websites related to exhibition topics, through which visitors can obtain more detailed scientific and technological information.
Exhibition hall on the second floor
traffic
The hall introduces the technology of transportation and their scientific principles. The most eye-catching exhibit is the "DC-3" airliner suspended from the ceiling, which is the first airliner in Hong Kong. You can learn how to fly a plane in the "flight simulator" below and fly over Hong Kong. The "traffic demonstration" will also explain to you how a sailing boat can sail in both upwind and downwind conditions.
Smart home
You can learn about the structure of household products and their safety in use in this department. You will find that "refrigerator", "air conditioner" and "dehumidifier" all use the same operating principle. You will also see the internal structure of gas meter, electricity meter and water meter
Food Safety
We help you to analyze the composition of food and explain the relationship between balanced diet and health. You can watch many films in "food theater" and learn about the modern production methods of moon cakes and ice cream. You can also choose a variety of foods. While riding a bicycle, you can check the energy consumed and the composition of the food in the "food as fuel" exhibition.
Exhibition hall on the third floor
Energy Efficiency Center
The extensive use of fossil fuels with limited reserves will not only cause the crisis of energy resource depletion, but also cause environmental pollution. In the energy efficiency center, in addition to introducing various energy saving methods, there is also a detailed analysis of the problems caused by the use of fossil fuels, such as the greenhouse effect and air pollution. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of various "renewable energy" such as solar energy and wind energy will be explained one by one.
Children's world
Children's world is a good place for children to get in touch with science. You can use the "soap bubble" exhibits to create soap films or bubbles of different sizes, so as to find the characteristics of surface tension in colorful bubbles. In the "bubble competition", when you pump bubbles into a column filled with liquid, you will see big bubbles catching up with small bubbles because of their buoyancy. You can try. It turns out that only the "train wheel" shaped like the lower half of the cone can prevent derailment because the outer ring is smaller than the inner ring.
