Historically, the forest of Steles in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, the forest of Steles in Confucius Temple, Qufu, Shandong Province, the forest of Steles in Nanmen, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and the forest of Steles in Xichang, Sichuan Province are known as the four largest forest of Steles in China. Xichang earthquake stele forest is located in Guangfu temple, Nanlu mountain, Xichang City, with more than 100 steles. The stone tablet records several large earthquakes in the history of Xichang, Mianning, Ganluo and Ningnan. It records in detail the time, foreshock, mainshock, aftershock, affected area, human and animal casualties and building damage of three large earthquakes in Xichang area in the 15th year of Jiajing (1536), the 10th year of Yongzheng (1732) and the 30th year of Daoguang (1850). Xichang is located in the Anning River and zemusi River fault zone. It is one of the earthquake areas in Southwest China. There have been many strong earthquakes in history. This forest of Steles provides material data for us to study whether strong earthquakes repeat in the same place, the occurrence period and the internal law. It can not only be compared with historical literature, but also make up for its shortcomings. In fact, it is rare in China. Xichang earthquake stele forest is a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Sichuan Province. It is a good place for tourists to visit Xichang!
