Former residence of Xia Yan in Hangzhou

Xia Yan's former residence was built in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It is a Chinese style bungalow, located in yanjianong outside Qingchun gate in Hangzhou. Xia Yan, a famous writer, once lived here. Now it is the exhibition room, which is a cultural relic protection unit in Hangzhou. It was named Hangzhou patriotism education base. Xiayan's former residence, formerly known as bayongtang, is a five bay and seven entrance courtyard. It is an activity place from the birth of Xiayan to his youth. Now it has been expanded, covering an area of 1200 square meters, with a construction area of 600 square meters. It adopts courtyard style and Jiangnan residential style. The exhibition room shows Xia Yan's life story of engaging in film activities, as well as Xia Yan's use of glasses, clothing, and famous calligraphy and painting.
