Leigudun ancient tombs
Leigudun ancient tombs are located 2.5 kilometers northwest of Suizhou city. This was once the site of the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng in the early Warring States period. Ancient Sui territory.
Leigudun tomb group, built on the red sandstone slope, chiseled stone for the cave, tomb area of 220 square meters, about 20 meters deep. The main coffin is divided into inner and outer layers, all painted. In addition, 21 coffins were found, most of them were young women aged 13-25.
There are more than 7000 kinds of burial objects in leigudun ancient tombs, including ritual musical instruments, weapons, chariots and horses, gold and jade, lacquer wood, bamboo and bamboo slips.
Historical evolution
There are many kinds of musical instruments in leigudun tomb group, such as bell, pan, drum, harp, Sheng, Xiao, flute and so on. They are arranged in order, just like an ancient music hall. In particular, a set of copper chime bells with 64 pieces is exquisitely designed and beautifully cast. When it was unearthed, it was still completely suspended on the clock stand, with a wide range of sounds and beautiful timbre. It is really amazing that ancient and modern music can be played.
According to the inscription of a yong bell in the lower center of the Bianzhong, this set of Bianzhong was given by King Hui of Chu to Marquis Yi Zeng, who loved music all his life, as a funeral object in the 56th year (433 BC). It has a history of more than 2400 years. These precious cultural relics are now in the Hubei Provincial Museum. At present, the cemetery has been covered with a hall and veranda. The tomb pit, coffin room and most of the coffins are preserved, and the corresponding cultural relics and their copies are displayed. About 500 meters away from the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng, another group of ancient tombs of the Warring States period has been found. It has been preliminarily identified that there are 24 tombs, and more than 200 cultural relics have been unearthed, mainly including bronze, bronze imitation pottery ritual and weapons, especially bronze swords. According to textual research, this tomb group is likely to be a public tomb at that time, which is called "clan tomb" in ancient literature.
Internal structure
The main coffins of the leigudun ancient tombs are divided into two layers. They are all painted. The outer coffins are 3.2 meters long and 2.19 meters high. There are 21 coffins for burial. Except one case is painted red, they are all painted. Most of the victims are young women aged 13-25. More than 15000 objects were buried, including ritual musical instruments, weapons, chariots and horses, gold and jade, lacquer wood and bamboo, and bamboo slips.
The ancient tombs of leigudun, with Jiuding and Bazhen as the center, have a complete range of bronze ritual vessels with wonderful shapes, such as relief, openwork, fine carving, gold inlay and jade inlay. Gold cup and marigold are dazzling. Wall, ring, Huang, Pei jade exquisite bright, exquisite carving skills. The lacquerware is novel in shape, complicated in design, and lifelike in shape.
Leigudun, 2.5km northwest of Chengguan, Suizhou. Leigudun was a territory of suiguo in ancient times. It looks at Tongbai in the north, woshan (Dahong mountain) in the south, Jishui in the East, mountains and ancient tombs. Marquis Yi of Zeng is the leader of Zeng in the early Warring States period. Wonderful layout
The tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng was built on the slope of red sandstone. It is carved with stone as a cave. The area of the tomb is about 220 square meters. It is divided into four chambers: East, middle, West and North. All of them are separated into small chambers with huge wood. The main coffin is divided into two layers, both inside and outside, all painted; 21 coffins are mostly painted, and most of the victims are young women aged 13-25. There are more than 7000 pieces of ritual musical instruments, weapons, chariots and horses, gold and jade, lacquer wood and bamboo, bamboo slips and other precious cultural relics buried in the tomb. Among them, more than 100 pieces of bronze ritual utensils are mainly Ding and Zhen, with complete categories and wonderful shapes. Relief, openwork, inlaid gold and jade are exquisite. Gold vessels such as Calendula, gold cup and gold spoon are dazzling. Jade vessels such as Bi, Huan, Suo and Jue are exquisite and bright.
unearthed relic
Among the cultural relics unearthed from the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng, 124 ancient musical instruments attract the most attention. Among them, a set of chime bells composed of 64 clocks is exquisitely designed and beautifully cast. When unearthed, it is hung on a bronze bell stand in three layers and eight groups. As long as you tap the position of the marking engraved on the bell, you can produce music that conforms to a certain scale. Although it has been buried underground for more than 2400 years, its musical performance is still poor It's still very good. It has a wide range and beautiful music. It can be played all the time. In 1981, a large number of ancient musical instruments, including 30 chimes, were unearthed from tomb No. 2 of leigudun.
Among the ancient musical instruments unearthed from leigudun, there are drum, harp, PaiXiao, and horizontal bamboo flute. They are exquisitely made and beautiful in appearance, providing excellent material materials for the study of ancient Chinese music history.
A large number of precious cultural relics unearthed from leigudun ancient tomb are now stored in Hubei Provincial Museum, with pavilions built in place. The tomb pit, coffin chamber and most coffins are preserved, and corresponding cultural relics and replicas are displayed.
