Tianshui Museum, founded in 1979, is a comprehensive historical museum at the prefecture level. It now has 34504 pieces of various collections, among which the precious works include bronze barons of the Western Zhou Dynasty and hunting portrait bricks of the four gods of the Han Dynasty.

Tianshui Museum, a comprehensive museum, located at 110 Fu Xi Road, Qinzhou District, Tianshui, Gansu, was founded in 1979. In 1986, it moved from Tianshui Town God's Temple to Tianshui Temple of Fu Xi. In October 2009, it opened to the public for free, covering an area of 35000 square meters and building area of 8361 square meters.
Tianshui Museum has more than 31909 pieces of stone tools, pottery, porcelain, bronze, iron, ancient books of calligraphy and painting, miscellaneous, folk cultural relics, modern calligraphy and painting, and ancient coins, of which 2048 pieces are above the third level. The collection is mainly based on the unearthed cultural relics in Tianshui area, supplemented by the more precious cultural relics unearthed in surrounding areas, forming a complete cultural relics collection system.
In 2009, Tianshui Museum won the "outstanding contribution award of Chinese tourism culture" and "brand Museum of Chinese tourism culture"; in 2010, Tianshui museum was commended as an advanced unit of cultural heritage protection in Gansu Province by Gansu Provincial Bureau of cultural relics

Historical evolution
In 1958, Tianshui area museum was established.
In 1962, Tianshui District Museum was cancelled.
In November 1979, the Tianshui area museum was rebuilt.
In September 1985, Tianshui area museum was renamed Tianshui City Museum.
In 1986, the Tianshui Museum moved from Tianshui Town God's Temple to Tianshui Fu Xi temple and officially opened to the outside world.
In August 2003, the website of Tianshui Museum (formerly known as Fuxi Temple official culture website) was opened.
In 2008, Tianshui museum built a museum of historical relics.
