Zhongshan Memorial Middle School
Sun Yat Sen Memorial Secondary School is a public full-time complete middle school under the charge of Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of education and sports. It was identified as one of the first batch of seven key middle schools in Guangdong Province in 1953, the first batch of first-class schools in Guangdong Province in 1994, and the first batch of national model high schools in Guangdong Province in 2006 and 2007.
Sun Yat Sen Memorial Middle School is the eldest son of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the forerunner of the democratic revolution. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Middle School was founded in 1934 with his father's will of "seeking construction, cultivating talents and serving the foundation of prosperity". In 1949, it was renamed "Sun Yat Sen Memorial middle school".
As of March 2018, Zhongshan Memorial middle school covers an area of 850 mu, with a building area of 170000 square meters. There are 120 teaching classes, including 93 classes in senior high school and 27 classes in junior high school, with more than 6500 students and 529 teachers.
Historical evolution
On February 8, 1929, the 19th State Council of the national government established Zhongshan County as a national model county under the jurisdiction of the national government.
On September 28, 1929, Sun Ke proposed the establishment of "Premier's hometown Memorial Middle School" in Cuiheng township. Mr. Sun Ke personally took charge of the preparation.
On June 30, 1933, the Zhongshan model county government "ordered the land bureau to allocate Shatin to serve as the school property of the premier Memorial School".
On November 27, 1931, the foundation of the school was built, on which was engraved: Sun Yat Sen Memorial School, the hometown of the premier. The school's construction land is mainly sunjiazu's land and Sunjia's cemetery, and the ancestral hall of sunjiazu was occupied and demolished.
In 1933, the school was basically completed.
In 1934, the school started with permission. In August, students were recruited from all over the country. In September, classes began. At that time, some of the school buildings were loaned to Zhongshan rural normal school. Principal Ji Zhong was also the principal of the rural normal school.
In December 1934, the township division moved back to Shiqi, and Zhongshan County government sent another person to handle it.
In 1935, it began to recruit students from all over the country in the autumn. On the basis of ordinary classes, it added high school agricultural classes, and received junior agricultural vocational classes from county normal schools.
In January 1937, he was ordered by the Department of education to put the case on file and received the school seal. In July of the same year, he took the graduation examination and graduated from grade three of senior high school.
In September 1938, Zhongshan County was occupied by the Japanese. The school moved to the White House of Songshan white horse stables in Macao. The attached primary school was located opposite the octagonal pavilion in Nanhai.
After the fall of Zhongshan, Cuiheng school was occupied by the Japanese army. It was changed into a hospital for the wounded and destroyed a lot.
In the summer of 1941, the former high school was changed from an agricultural college to an ordinary high school.
In the autumn of 1942, the school set the primary and secondary school in Nanhai garden.
In September 1943, the Middle School Department of the school moved to the "Tang garden" at the junction of pylilla street and Ko Ko road.
In September 1945, the Middle School Department of the school moved to a big house on the side of Guohua opera garden in Tianshen lane.
In March 1947, the school moved back to Zhongshan Cuiheng school.
In September 1949, the first five-star red flag in Zhongshan rose on Jizhong campus. Soon after, it was renamed Zhongshan Memorial Middle School.
In 1953, the school was identified as one of the seven key middle schools in Guangdong Province.
In 1978, the school was re identified as a key middle school in Guangdong Province.
In 1994, it was rated as one of the first batch of provincial level schools in Guangdong Province.
In 2006, the school passed the evaluation and acceptance of the first batch of national model high schools in Guangdong Province.
In 2009, class 1 of grade 3 of the school was named "Yang Yin class" in the "double hundred" character class naming activity carried out by the Ministry of education. It was officially named on September 5, 2011.
