Hakka Park
Hakka park is located in Meizhou, a famous national historical and cultural city and the most concentrated Hakka population of Han nationality in China. The Hakka people are known as the "living fossil" of Chinese traditional culture and the "classicism in life" for their profound cultural accumulation, unique folk customs and magical migration history. They occupy a high historical position and research value in the history of Chinese folk customs.
Meizhou is also the hometown of Huang Zunxian, a famous patriotic poet, outstanding diplomat, statesman and educator in modern Chinese history. His patriotism and his great contribution in the history of modern Chinese diplomacy have far-reaching political influence, and he is called the first person in modern China to go to the world by "Huang Xue" research experts. Its study "renjinglu" in Meicheng, its former residence "rongludi" and ancient residential building "enyuandi" are provincial cultural relics protection units and precious cultural heritage of national historical and cultural city.
Development history
In order to excavate, organize and develop Hakka culture, enrich the connotation of Hakka culture, enhance the grade and reputation of Meizhou historical and cultural city, promote the in-depth implementation of "cultural Meizhou" development strategy, and promote the coordinated development of Meizhou economy, society and culture. Meizhou municipal Party committee and municipal government decided to build China Hakka Museum and Huang Zunxian Memorial Hall in Hakka Park, which was approved by the provincial development and Reform Commission. Hakka park is located at the mouth of Dongshan stream in Meizhou City, with a planned land area of 163.2 Mu and a total investment of 150 million yuan. It is planned to be fully completed by the end of 2007. Among them, China Hakka Museum will gradually develop into the center of Hakka culture research and dissemination through the collection, research and display of Hakka historical relics and historical materials. Huang Zunxian Memorial Hall mainly integrates Huang Zunxian's study "renjinglu", former residence "rongludi" and ancient residential building "enyuandi", to show his life story and life style of that year.
The overall outline of Hakka park has been basically formed. The first draft of the outline for the restoration and display of the cultural relics of Huang Zunxian memorial has been completed. The civil engineering of the main hall and the renovation of the branch Hall of the Hakka Museum have been basically completed, and they have entered the stage of exhibition design and construction. It is planned to officially open to the public in July 2007.
The completion of Hakka park will become the largest concentrated exhibition place of Hakka culture in mainland China. The design of the park concentrates the essence of Hakka culture. The overall design takes Hakka culture as the system, Hakka Museum as the core, and focuses on the achievement of Hakka culture in Meizhou through a number of theme scenic spots with different connotations, such as migration, education, ethics, folk custom, farming and so on. The planning and construction projects mainly include more than 30 scenic spots, such as Meizhou Cultural Square, Hakka Museum, Huang Zunxian memorial hall, Hakka custom tour activity field and Hakka folk culture exhibition.
Hakka park will be open to tourists free of charge from March 20, 2010.

China Hakka Museum
Located in the Hakka Park in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, China Hakka Museum is a comprehensive museum for collecting, researching and displaying Hakka cultural history, with a total investment of more than 170 million yuan. It consists of five exhibition halls, including the main hall of Huang Zunxian memorial hall, University President hall and general hall. The main Museum covers an area of 163.2 mu, with a construction area of 15000 square meters. There are 194 cultural relics and nearly 100 historical documents.
Huang Zunxian Memorial
Huang Zunxian memorial hall is composed of renjinglu, Huang Zunxian's study, and the provincial cultural relics protection units connected with rongludi, Huang's former residence, and Enyuan, Huang's folk residence. It covers an area of 23 mu. Huang Zunxian memorial hall is a special hall for the collection, display and research of Huang Zunxian, an outstanding diplomat, enlightenment thinker, reform pioneer and patriotic poet in modern China. It is also a window for foreign cultural exchanges and a patriotic education base in Meizhou, a national historical and cultural city. The exhibition of Huang Zunxian's life and deeds and the exhibition of Huang Zunxian's collection of books are set up in enyuandi, an ancient residential building, to show Huang Zunxian's lofty qualities of "being wise, practical and loyal to the country". Renjinglu, rongludi and enyuandi, which are deeply accumulated in ancient architectural culture, have their own characteristics, showing the historical style of Hakka life in the late Qing Dynasty.
