Shuangtashan

Shuangtashan is located 10 kilometers southwest of the world-famous Chengde summer resort. It is one of the famous mountains in Chengde. More than 1300 years ago, Qidan people built two ancient pagodas on the top of Shuangta peak, which has become the biggest highlight of the scenic spot. So far, the construction of the twin towers is still a mystery. The scenic area has beautiful forests and gullies, flowing streams, jagged rocks and fragrant flowers. Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Qianlong Jiaqing and famous civil and military officials of the Qing Dynasty visited the site many times.

There is a man-made brick tower on the rock pillar. It is said that it is the tomb tower of Liao Dynasty. It has a history of 1000 years. It is the oldest existing building in Chengde area. Now there is a ladder beside the tower, which can climb up. There are also three immortals temple, qibaolou, Lingfeng ancient garden and cliff stone carvings on the mountain.

The brick tower on the South Peak faces south to the north. It is more than 5 meters high and square, with a side length of more than 2 meters. The door is about 1.5 meters high and 1.3 meters wide. It has wooden bases at four corners, iron bars and copper bells hanging on it. The east wall, west wall and south wall are pressed with blue bricks, and the north wall is straight with the same seam. Before 1976, the cracks in the north wall were larger, with a width of about 20 cm. After the Tangshan earthquake, not only did the brick tower not fall down, but the cracks joined together, which was very magical.

Shuangtashan

Shuangtashan sightseeing cableway starts from the entrance square of shuangtashan Park, passes by the foot of shuangtashan, and goes straight up to another famous landscape "ape man stone" in the scenic area. The whole line is 800 meters long, with an elevation difference of 88 meters. The cableway runs through the important scenic spots of the scenic area, which can make the tour more relaxed, comfortable and comprehensive. Thirty miles southwest of Chengde City, there are two huge rock pillars standing in line from north to south, like pagodas. There is a brick tower on each peak, so it is named shuangtashan. The height of the two peaks is roughly the same; the north peak is thick, more than 40 meters high and 74 meters in circumference. The south peak is thick above and thin below, with a circumference of 34 meters. Shuangta mountain stands straight. When the scenic spot was first built in 1998, a spiral iron ladder leading to the peak was built for people to visit, but it was later demolished due to damage to cultural relics. Today, people use telescopes to observe that the brick tower on the top of the north peak is about 2 meters high, cone-shaped and has no door. Historical records

"Chengde Fu Zhi" records: "on the top of the East Tower (Nanfeng), there is an ancient temple. It is unknown who built it, but it has collapsed. Beside it, there is a small stele inscribed with" Wang Xiansheng ". Notes of Yuewei cottage written by Ji Xiaolan of the Qing Dynasty says that "in the west of the villa, there are two towers and peaks, pavilions and pavilions opposite each other. From afar, there are two floating pictures, and there is no way to go up. In the night, there are bell chimes and chants, and in the day, there are clouds.

In 1790, the Emperor Qianlong ordered the officials to build a wooden ladder and send people to climb it. There was a hut on the one hundred and six steps around the peak. There were several incense burners in the hut and a piece of stone engraved with the words "Wang Xiansheng". Sixty two steps around the peak, two beds of leeks are planted on it, and the city is as square as a garden. It is by no means the reach of human power. " The book also said: "there are a pair of straw sandals under the censer, and an old book on the table.".

"From Shuangfeng Li Xu, Wu Zhenyun, the abbot of the emperor's temple, said:" in 1782, Qianlong renyin (47th year), there was a thunderstorm in one night, and a stone Buddha fell from Shuangta peak. Today, it is still in the temple, but only a piece of rough stone, one side of which is slightly like a Buddha. " Yuewei thatched cottage notes is a novel, and its contents are believable and unreliable. However, a piece of stone is preserved in the Museum of summer resort, which is supposed to be the one Ji Xiaolan said. According to the identification of the patterns, gestures and backlight patterns of the Buddha statues, they seem to be relics before the Liao Dynasty. Therefore, the "small temple" (brick tower) on the top of Shuangta mountain should have been built before Liao Dynasty.

Historical legend

It is said that in ancient times, Chengde was a sea. There lived a family named Wang and two brothers on the bank, fishing for a living. The old man married his daughter-in-law, and the second one had a lover, so his life was very prosperous. One day, the second son went into the mountain to collect firewood and hurt his leg, so he couldn't do heavy work ever since. The sister-in-law gradually became tired of the second child. She not only refused to marry him, but also beat and scolded him frequently, and then wanted to drive him out of the house. Unable to bear the humiliation, the second son took a boat to cut off the rope and let him drift on a stormy night. At dawn the next day, when the wind was calm and the waves were calm, the second man drifted between the two reefs, cabled the boat and went ashore. He found that there was a small temple in each of the two reefs. When he came to Beijiao, he saw a girl worshiping Buddha, with fishing nets, pickaxes and a bag of rapeseed beside her. Recently, I saw that the girl was my dream lover. When they met, they cried bitterly. The girl said, I saw a big whirlwind rolling up your house last night, and I jumped into the sea alone to marry you in the underworld. Unexpectedly, dawn drifted to this reef island. Just now, I was praying for you and praying for Buddha's blessing. So they got married here Lovers get married. They live in the temple on the North reef, fishing and growing vegetables, and the small temple on the South reef serves as a warehouse.

After many years, the earth's crust changed, the sea water in this area retreated and became land. The two reefs are now shuangtashan. Ji Xiaolan said in the book that what she saw was probably the remains of the couple.

It is also said that Emperor Qianlong ordered people to build a cloud ladder one year to see for themselves. After going up, he saw a shrine, a stone table, a censer, and an old book on the stone table in the small temple. Qianlong turned it over and didn't know a word. There is a pair of broken straw sandals under the stone table, and there are two beds of leeks in front of the temple. He was disappointed and came down with nothing. On the night of returning to the summer resort, he had a dream: an old man with white hair asked him what his majesty saw when he climbed the Shuangta mountain, and Qianlong answered. The old man said that old books are heavenly books, straw sandals are Dengyun boots, leeks are Ganoderma lucidum, censers are Shengyun altar. The Emperor didn't see anything in his eyes. In the early morning of the next day, Qianlong ordered people to build the ladder again, but it couldn't be built, so he had to give up.

Starting from the urban area, drive straight ahead along the West Street, cross the guangrenling tunnel, go out of the urban area, pass the Sanchakou to the silk factory, turn left to the East Binhe Road, drive 2 km, and then you can get there. The whole journey is about 15 km.

Drive from Yuanhai line of shidongzigou in the urban area to heyday Dynasty (about 5-10 minutes drive), turn left, drive forward to Sanchakou (the landmark building of Chengde No.3 middle school), keep left, enter Binhe East Road, drive about 2 km, and reach shuangtashan scenic area (left side).
