Caiyi Hall

Caiyi hall is located at No.2 Wengjia Lane in Changshu City. It is the former residence of Weng Tonghe, the master of emperor Tongzhi and Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty.

Development history

Caiyitang ancient house, facing south from north, covers an area of about 4620 square meters, which can be roughly divided into East, middle and West roads. Today, there are more than 90 large and small houses. The entrance hall is located in the East Road. There are three rooms in the East Hall and three small buildings behind. The west road is mainly composed of Huating Siyong hall, shuangguixuan, library, baiguxuan, zhizhizhai, etc., which are arranged in an orderly and winding way. The middle road is the main axis, with six entrances in front and back, and two entrances in turn are hall, sedan hall, hall building and Xiafang. There are wing rooms on the left and right of the hall. The third entrance to the main hall is the colorful Hall of the Ming Dynasty, which is simple and elegant. It is 14.98 meters wide in three rooms and 14.03 meters deep in nine frames. It has a front porch and a back porch. It is flat and made of huge materials. 116 pieces of color painting were applied to beams, beams and purlins. Some of the pictures are piled with asphalt powder. In 1835, Chen Luan, the governor of Jiangsu Province, wrote the plaque of "Caiyi hall" on the back of Fang, and wrote it in small characters: "Daoguang Yiwei Xiaochun, the second year of Ming, the adult was ordered to test Zhejiang, return to Wuzhong, and worship Mrs. Yu Lidi. It was the 60th birthday of the Virgin Mary, and there were five days in bailiao's colorful clothes. Caiyi hall, originally named sengui hall, was built between Chenghua and Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty by sang Jin, a member of Changshu family. The latter number changes its main. In 1833, it was owned by Weng Xincun. Weng Xincun (1790-1862), father of Weng Tonghe, was named Shen'an in the second year of Daoguang (1822). He was a Jinshi in the second year of Daoguang. He was a minister of Li Department, Hu Department and Gong department, a Bachelor of Ti Ren Ge, and a master of Tongzhi emperor. The Caiyi hall is basically intact today. After renovation, the back of the hall looks radiant. In 1991, it was opened as Weng Tonghe Memorial Hall. Now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in China.
