Historical evolution

Huanghe Water Conservancy Vocational and technical college was founded in March 1929 (18 years of the Republic of China), formerly known as Henan water conservancy engineering school. Its founder was Zhang Fang, a famous person who was then director of Henan Provincial Department of construction. Its first president was Chen Panling, who graduated from the Department of civil engineering of national Beiyang University. In August, the water conservancy engineering school of Henan Provincial Department of construction changed its name to Henan provincial water conservancy engineering school.

In June 1931, it was upgraded to Henan water conservancy engineering college.

In May 1942, it was upgraded to the national Yellow River Basin hydraulic engineering college.

In July 1946 (the 35th year of the Republic of China), the National College of Yellow River Basin water conservancy engineering was partially incorporated into the national Henan University and became the Department of water conservancy of its engineering college.

In January 1947 (the 36th year of the Republic of China), part of the resources of the national Yellow River Basin Water Conservancy Engineering College were transformed into private Zhongyuan Institute of technology.

In September 1950, it was rebuilt and renamed the Yellow River Water Conservancy College. Wang Huayun, director of the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission, was concurrently the president.

In September 1952, there were 10 water science teachers in Zhengzhou Technical school, and three classes were merged into the Yellow River water conservancy school. In October, some teachers and teaching equipment of Water Conservancy Department of Henan University were incorporated into Yellow River water conservancy school.

In November 1958, it was upgraded to Yellow River Water Conservancy College.

In September 1961, it was rebuilt as the Yellow River water conservancy school.

In September 1962, it was renamed Yellow River water conservancy School of Ministry of water resources and electric power.

In June 1970, it was renamed Yellow River water conservancy School of Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission.

In 1980, the Yellow River water conservancy staff University and the cadre school of the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission were founded, and the Yellow River water conservancy School of the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission was renamed the Yellow River water conservancy school,

In 2000, the Ministry of water resources was assigned to Henan Province, which was jointly built by the province and ministry. It was listed in the first batch of 15 demonstration vocational and technical colleges by the Ministry of education.

In December 2006, the University was identified as the first batch of 28 national model higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.

In 2009, the University passed the national acceptance, entered the ranks of advanced higher vocational education in the country, and was rated as an excellent model construction acceptance college by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.

In 2012, the school passed the second round of talent training assessment with excellent results.

In May 2013, the University was rated by the Ministry of education as a national university with typical employment experience.

In September 2015, the University and Henan Institute of Engineering jointly carried out the application-oriented undergraduate education of "Surveying and Mapping Engineering" (the first enrollment of 50 students).

In 2016, the University and North China University of water resources and hydropower carried out joint undergraduate talent training of water conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation.

In August, the school was selected as the second batch of national modern apprenticeship pilot units.

In July 2019, it was recognized as a national high-quality vocational college by the Ministry of education.

In October, it passed the acceptance of the second batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of education.

On December 18, the Ministry of education and the Ministry of Finance issued the notice on publishing the list of construction units of high-level higher vocational schools and specialty construction plans with Chinese characteristics, and Huanghe Water Conservancy Vocational and technical college was selected as the construction unit of high-level higher vocational schools with Chinese characteristics (Grade A).
