The west gate of Kaifeng ancient city, known as "Daliangmen" in ancient times, was built in the second year of Jianzhong (781) of Tang Dynasty, also known as "changhemen" in Northern Song Dynasty. After repeated wars, storms and floods, the gate tower was dilapidated and finally demolished. Today's Daliang gate was rebuilt in 1998. It is one of the three gates rebuilt in Kaifeng, including the north gate, Anyuan gate and the new gate of Xiaonanmen gate. In the song Capital Cultural Industrial Park, two East gates, Cao gate and song gate, will be rebuilt. These two gates are the two largest gates of Tokyo city at that time. They are matched with the magnificence of Beijing's front gate, and become important symbols of the ancient capital.

In the early Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang was promoted to Kaifeng as Beijing, the capital of Nanjing, and changed the west gate to Daliangmen, commonly known as the west gate. After repeated wars, storms and floods, the gate tower was dilapidated and finally demolished.

Today's Daliang gate was rebuilt in 1998. It is one of the three gates rebuilt in Kaifeng, including the north gate, Anyuan gate and the new gate of Xiaonanmen gate. They are matched with the magnificence of Beijing's front gate, and become important symbols of the ancient capital. The gate base adopts the blue brick structure, with three arched openings. The tower adopts the double eaves Xieshan architectural style, with carved beams and colored drawings. It is simple, elegant and magnificent.
In the north of the city gate, the multi-storey ancient city horse road has been proved, which provides another important evidence for Kaifeng's unique history of city stacks. Now it has been opened as an ancient city wall Museum.
In November 1996, the State Council announced the ancient city wall of Kaifeng as a national cultural relic protection unit. In order to better protect and make use of this historical and cultural heritage, the construction of Ximen tower was started in 1997. It was completed on October 28, 1998 and opened to tourists. Ximen tower is a "double eaves Xieshan" type two-story Pavilion, covering an area of 2207.6 square meters, with a total height of 26.3 meters and a length of 50 meters. It is dignified, elegant, simple and beautiful in shape. It is harmonious with the western city wall and becomes another tourist landscape in Kaifeng.
