Wushan reservoir is located in guantian township. It is also called coral pool because of its winding shape. The main scenic spots include the grand dam and spillway, the tree shaded Triangle Park and Xiangxie Avenue, the solemn Temple of heaven and static Park, etc. The stone dike of the dam is a rare semi hydraulic scouring and silting earth rock dam structure. Standing here, you can see the green water and the mountains in the distance, overlook the temple of heaven, wufengxie and other scenery, and have a very broad vision.
Wushantou reservoir
Wushantou reservoir, formerly known as Wushantou reservoir, is a reservoir located in guantian District, Tainan City, Taiwan Province, China. It has the function of hydropower generation and is connected with Wushantou hydropower plant and Wushantou scenic spot. It is located in Wushan mountain, 468 meters above sea level. summary
Wushantou reservoir was built in 1920 and completed in 1930. It is one of the most important water conservancy projects in Jianan Dazhen. It is also one of the early reservoir systems in Taiwan, China. It was planned and completed by Japanese hydraulic engineer batian and Yi. The main purpose of the construction is to irrigate the agriculture in Jianan plain. Wushantou reservoir is located in the upstream of guantian River, a tributary of Zengwen river. It uses the huilow-lying Valley in guantian District, Liujia District, Dani district and Dongshan District of Tainan City as the catchment area. The water source is from Dapu River in the upstream of Zengwen river. It is a trough reservoir. The intake tunnel passes through wushanling to the upstream of guantian River, which is more than 3000 meters long. After the completion of Zengwen reservoir, the downstream water is taken to connect with Zengwen river The two complement each other. Zengwen reservoir also provides water for Wushantou hydropower station.
