Kaohsiung Mosque
The Kaohsiung mosque, called Kaohsiung temple, was founded in January 1949. It is a collection of rent and rent from the Chinese mainland's Muslim military and government personnel. It is a building with 117 square feet of Kaohsiung Road, with a floor area of 270 square meters.
Historical evolution
Kaohsiung mosque was moved to 196 Linsen 1st Road in 1951. It is a Japanese style wooden structure temple, covering an area of 460 square meters, and the main building is a worship Hall of 135 square meters.
As the number of Muslim worshippers increased, they raised funds to buy land for reconstruction in April 1980. In October 1988, the land of the old temple was sold and the income was used as funds for the reconstruction of the new temple. Construction started in December 1990 and completed in April 1992.
Scale system
The new mosque of Kaohsiung is located in Jianjun Road, Lingya District, covering an area of 2657 square meters. The whole temple is a reinforced concrete three storey building, with the first floor underground, the first floor above the ground as the Muslim activity center, the second floor as the main hall of worship and Arabic and religious tutorial classes, and the third floor as the Muslim women's Hall of worship and the living room for the elderly. In addition, there are Dean's room, office, VIP room, library, bathroom, funeral room, kitchen, classroom, etc. The temple is now the 15th board of directors of the mosque, with 23 directors, Zhu Yunfeng, chairman of the board, Chen Yongwu, current Dean, Ding Zhongming and Hai Weiliang as consultants. In addition to being responsible for the affairs of the temple, the board also manages two Muslim cemeteries, Muslim food and meat supply department, and the construction of "Islamic community" around the temple.
