Xinguang life insurance skyscraper, or Xinguang skyscraper for short, is a skyscraper located in the center of Taipei, Taiwan. It is located on Zhongxiao West Road, adjacent to Taipei station. Basic introduction

Xinguang life insurance skyscraper, or Xinguang skyscraper for short, is a skyscraper located in the center of Taipei, Taiwan. It is located on Zhongxiao West Road, adjacent to Taipei station. Completed on December 21, 1993, Xinguang skyscraper was designed and built by architect Kaku Morin. It has 51 floors above the ground and 7 floors below the ground, with a total height of 244.15 meters. It is one of the most eye-catching landmarks in Taipei. It used to be the tallest skyscraper in Taiwan, but after the completion of Kaohsiung 85 (1997) and Taipei 101 (2004), it is now the third tallest building in Taiwan. From the first to the 13th floor of the building is the Taipei station front store of new light Sanyue department store.

The original site of the building

The original site of Shin Kwong skyscraper is the Railway Hotel in the Japanese era. The hotel was built in European style and used to be one of the most advanced hotels in Taiwan. However, it was bombed by the U.S. Army at the end of World War II. After the war, it was restored on a small scale and was renamed "Taiwan Railway Hotel". New light life was founded in 1963 on Guanqian Road, so this base near Guanqian road was selected as the place to build skyscrapers. Since its establishment in 2002, Xinguang financial holding company has also set up its headquarters here.

Top floor prospect desk

The 46th floor of Xinguang skyscraper was once one of the most famous tourist attractions in Taipei. You can take the elevator to the 46th floor to see the scenery of Taipei basin.

In its heyday, Shin Kwong Vista set a record of more than 6000 visitors a day. Former Soviet Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev also visited Shin Kwong vista. However, in recent years, there are only more than 100 tourists on average, and most of them are Japanese tourists. Due to the continuous opening and loss of Taipei101 Observatory, Shin Kwong vista was originally planned to open only until the end of 2005, but later became more popular Ring, extend the operating hours to February 28, 2006 officially ended.

The space of the future outlook stage is expected to be the kitty Museum.

Xinguang financial holding company

Founded on February 19, 2002, Sunray Financial Holdings is headquartered in the skyscraper of sunray life insurance, a financial landmark in Taipei city. At present, it has five subsidiaries, namely, Shin Kwong life insurance, Shin Kwong bank, Shin Shou securities, Shin Kwong investment trust and shin Kwong insurance broker. Covering life insurance, banking, securities, funds, property insurance and other goods and services, Xinguang life insurance has 360 branches, 108 branches of Xinguang bank and 8 business bases of Xinshou securities in China, with more than 5 million customers. In June 2008, Forbes announced that the net wealth of Wu Dongjin's family, chairman of new light Financial Holdings, was US $2.3 billion, ranking 11th in Taiwan.

Climbing competition

On October 16, 1994, Shin Kwong life insurance held its first building climbing competition, which started the history of Taiwan's climbing competition. The competition used 1006 steps of 46 floors. Qiu Jilang of Taipei Institute of physical education and Zhang Meilian of Taipei Youth Park jogging club won the first men's and women's championships in 5:45 and 8:16 respectively. Today's best result is Chen Zhongren of men's team in the 18th (20:00) 5:32 in July 2004 and 6:52 in December 2004.

Although this competition is not the tallest building climbing competition in Taiwan, it is the most famous and the oldest one in the history of Taiwan's climbing competition.

Shin Kong Life Tower runup is the first time in Taiwan to start the competition. It is also the oldest and most impressive competition in Taiwan. It was held for the first time eight months (October 16, 1994) after the completion of Shin Kong Life Insurance skyscraper.

This competition is based on a total of 1006 steps from the 1st to the 46th floor, with a height of about 200 meters. Each session will have different themes. In addition, Xinguang life insurance will also cooperate with relevant security and fire prevention units to provide on-site publicity of common sense of security and fire prevention, so as to enhance people's awareness of security and fire prevention.

At present, the best records for men and women in this competition are Chen Zhongren's 5:32 and Li Xiaoyu's 6:52 respectively. On May 5, 2007, the 23rd competition will be held with the theme of "running to prevent global warming".

Floor configuration

Ground floor 1: storage area for contestants' articles and exchange area for contestants' souvenirs.

1st floor

Eastern peripheral channel: contestant registration area, drinking water supply area. Central Plaza: the main stage area of the conference, and the surrounding vendors will be invited to set up stalls.

Internal atrium: VIP and media rest area. Before the competition, it is the registration area (originally configured in the relay floor on the 16th floor).

16th floor: conference record area, only for staff, not open to the public, this floor is the relay elevator transfer floor. In addition, Xinguang hospital will also set up emergency medical care areas in the staircases on both sides of the East and West, providing support services whenever there is any situation.

31th floor: the same as the staircase on the 16th floor, there are temporary medical centers.

46th floor: terminal area, including stamp area, score printing area, temporary medical area, drinking water supply area and rest area.

Since 2003, in addition, new photo commemorative doors have been added at the entrance of the East and west areas, and group photo commemorative boards have been added in the rest area.

Annual competition period

The first

Shin Kwong life insurance set a precedent for Taiwan to hold the climbing competition. With the theme of "love at the highest point", it opened a new milestone for the climbing competition. In that year, 1641 people participated in the competition, including 1116 men, 353 women and 86 pairs. 1268 people completed the competition. Philips was also invited to join hands in the competition.

The cross-country school team of Taipei Datong elementary school and the team of Taipei Youth Park long-distance running club are the two most popular teams in this competition.

The oldest contestant is a 79 year old grandfather, and the youngest is a 1-year-old 10 month old girl.

The second

(30 July 1995)

As the fire broke out in Yuanshan Hotel on June 27, all units attached great importance to the fire safety of major buildings. Therefore, the theme of Xinguang life insurance was "running for public safety", and fire engines and fire fighting equipment were donated to the Taipei municipal government to strengthen disaster relief measures.

Group competition system is changed. The fun competition consists of the growing youth group and the parent-child group which replaces the double group. The men's group and the women's group are included in the surpassing peak group.

Peng Shiwang, the "VIP of the Qing Dynasty", entered the competition at the age of 94. Although he did not finish the whole race (he would withdraw after only running 12 floors), he was the oldest of all the participants. In addition, the competition also attracted 3399 participants.

In the opening ceremony, Taipei Mayor Chen Shui Bian used "climbing Mount Tai to make the world small" as a metaphor for the new light skyscraper, which symbolizes the landmark of Taipei City, hoping that Chinese people will cherish the new landmark and new hometown of Taipei.

The third

(28 July 1996)

The theme of that year was "running to care for the youth". More than 4500 people signed up to participate in the competition, and the scale of the competition was renewed.

The fourth

(27 July 1997)

In addition to 4095 people who signed up for the competition with the theme of "running for social security", the organizer also donated 25 ambulances to the rescue units of all counties and cities in China, and held prize winning and answering activities on fire safety at the scene, so as to encourage the participating people to strengthen the correct concept and cognition of fire safety.

The fifth

(9 August 1998)

Following the theme of the second session, "running for public safety", more than 4000 people participated.

Taipei mayor candidate Ma Ying Jeou took part in the competition for the first time. He was the first runner among all the competitors and finished the competition in 11 minutes and 13 seconds.

The program "beautiful world" of China Broadcasting Corporation was recorded on the spot and a singing activity was held.

The sixth

(2 May 1999)

For the first time, the organizer held the "new light relationship enterprise staff climbing competition" which is not open to the outside world, including more than 30 relationship enterprises and relevant units in central and southern China.
