Da'an Forest Park is an ecological park with dense vegetation, known as the "lung of the city" of Taipei city. The park is full of trees and flowers, which are colorful and pleasing to the eye. Daan Park
Daan Forest Park, referred to as Daan Park, is located in Daan District, Taipei City, Taiwan Province, covering an area of 25.894 hectares. When it was first opened, it was the largest park in Taipei City (the windward riverside park is twice its size). It was officially opened to the public on March 29, 1994. The management and maintenance unit is the park street lamp project management office of Works Bureau of Taipei municipal government. The whole park can be divided into: bamboo forest area, banyan tree area, fragrant flower area, aquatic plant area, belt forest area, pool false mountain area, outdoor music platform, children's game area and parking lot.
Development history
During the Japanese occupation, it was planned to be the site of No.7 Park, one of the large-scale metropolitan parks planned before the war in Taipei. After 1949, it was occupied as the land for the family village and "international school house". Before the construction, it was planned to build a gymnasium here in the 1980s, which caused great controversy at that time. During the demolition of the above ground buildings, it also experienced the resistance of the original residents and the dispute over the statue of Guanyin Buddha. Since April 1, 1992, the demolition of the residents began, and the construction of the park officially started. It was opened on March 29, 1994. It was originally planned as a natural forest park, but later it was changed into a multi-purpose rest park.

From the intersection of Xinyi Road and Xinsheng South Road, there are Pu Shu, Qie Peng, bamboo forest formed by golden bamboo, green bamboo, calabash bamboo and Dendrocalamus latiflorus near Guanyin statue, etc., opening the natural feelings with humanity.
(2) Pool area
On the east side of the bamboo forest area, the big pool is surrounded by golden dew, cigar, snow in June, weeping willow, wild ginger, sedge and other aquatic plants. In the middle of the artificial island, there are big leaf press, big leaf Acacia and other trees. Outside the pool, there are big leaf eucalyptus, mountain cherry, weeping willow, structure tree, larch, Mantou fruit, small leaf mulberry and other trees. There are osmanthus, Magnolia, Michelia, gardenia and other fragrant plants near the music platform in front of the mound on Xinsheng South Road. In addition, Koelreuteria paniculata and Melia azedarach are on both sides of the East-West trail.
(4) Leaf changing, flower falling and fruit falling areas
The intersection of Heping East Road and Xinsheng south road is a charming area of variegated tree species, rich in Liquidambar formosana, black mortar, olive, Pistacia chinensis, Indian red sandalwood, elm, etc.
(5) Banyan and fruit area

5. Phoenix wood
The flowering season of Phoenix wood is June and July of graduation season. The phoenix tree in the park has a unique place, one of which grows a banyan tree. It is not specially connected, but grows naturally. Originally, it was just a small banyan tree, attached to the hole of Phoenix wood. Banyan growing, has been semi parasitic in the phoenix tree. Although it can produce nutrients by photosynthesis, water and some nutrients have been absorbed directly from Phoenix wood. Maybe one day it will replace Phoenix wood.
