At the entrance of the front section of miaozuangmu Road, we can see the stone carvings of "entering samadhi" and the couplet of "golden rope opening Jue Road, treasure raft crossing maze" inscribed by Dong Qichang, a famous calligrapher, painter and litterateur of the Ming Dynasty. According to records, some cultural celebrities and eminent monks used this way to worship Buddhism. Founded in 1612, the Baihua nunnery is one of the oldest buildings in Putuo Mountain. Many eminent monks and cultural celebrities once gathered here to recite poems, taste tea and enjoy the moon. There used to be a "Zhenxie spring" in the nunnery, and a stone tablet inscribed by Shi Hao, a writer of the Song Dynasty. At present, the historic site of "Zhenxie spring" is still there, but the spring has been abandoned; the stele is the oldest existing stele in Putuo Mountain, which is located in a residential area.
