Songling Tang Kung ancestral hall is located at the foot of the northwest of lung Yuet tau long mountain in Fanling, New Territories, between Lao Wai and ancestral hall village. It is one of the most important and largest ancestral halls in Hong Kong. The ancestral hall was used as a school in the 1940s and 1950s and was listed as a statutory monument on November 7, 1997.
Songling denggong Temple
Located at the northwest foot of Longshan mountain in Fanling, Songling temple is one of the most important and grand ancestral halls in Hong Kong. The ancestral hall was built in about 1525 to commemorate the Kaiji ancestor Deng Songling Gong (from 1302 to 1387). It is the ancestral hall of the Deng people in longyuetou.

Songling denggong ancestral hall was built in 1525 to commemorate Kaiji ancestor dengsongling Gong (1302-1387). It is the ancestral hall of the Dengs in longyuetou. Every year on the Lantern Festival (the 15th of the first month), the people who were born in Tianding made a lighting ceremony in the ancestral hall. The second day of February is the day of ancestor worship.
structure
The couplet in front of the hall is "the peaks rise, the mountains rise and fall, the five flowers blossom, the mountains open, the surface flows, the auspicious water flows, the origin of the book runs through Jiangxi Province"; the couplet "the great cause crown Yuntai Hanshi general mianshi Zhoufang shengliu tax courtyard song Dynasty County Mada famous family", the lines hide the origin of the Deng family. The central hall is called "Cuiyun hall". It is the place where people discuss affairs. The file center is located at the back of the central hall, separated from the main hall. The main hall is divided into three halls, in which the ancestors of past dynasties are worshiped, including the first ancestor (Yuanliang), the second ancestor (Weiji) and Huanggu and their later twenty-two ancestors. The shape of Huanggu's God card is different from others. There are dragon's head wood carvings, the left Hall is the ancestral throne of the worthy ancestors (the ancestors with fame or contribution), and the right hall is the ancestral throne of the worthy villagers. Both inside and outside the ancestral hall are decorated with exquisite wood carvings, colored sculptures, pottery sculptures and murals with auspicious patterns as the theme.
Maintenance information
Deng Gong ancestral hall in Songling has been built several times. What we can see now is that it was rebuilt in 1921. The comprehensive maintenance of the ancestral hall started in 1991 with funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the government. It was completed in mid-1992 under the supervision of the Antiquities and monuments office and the monuments restoration section of the Architectural Services Department.
