There are only 200 Chinese Mergansers listed in the Red Book of endangered birds in the world, and 40 in xiaobeihu. The lotus growing in Xiaobei lake has been identified by experts as Heilongjiang red lotus, 135 million years ago, known as "living fossil of the biological world".
