Historical evolution

The predecessor of the school is Nanjing No.1 Vocational High School founded in 1941.

After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, the school was taken over by the Kuomintang government, and its name was changed to Nanjing first vocational school.

In 2019, Nanjing Forest Police College will be transferred to a university directly under the Ministry of public security of the people's Republic of China

Nanjing Municipal Agricultural Vocational School

In the summer of 1947, the school made a major adjustment. The two branches of business and agriculture of the former school set up two schools independently, and the agricultural branch set up Nanjing Municipal Agricultural Vocational School (the predecessor of Nanjing Forest Police College).

In 1948, the school moved to Yanziji, where the business school stopped recruiting business students and changed its name to Nanjing municipal business vocational school (now the predecessor of Nanjing Railway Vocational and Technical College).

After the liberation of Nanjing in 1949, the Nanjing Military Control Commission took over the Nanjing Municipal Agricultural Vocational School.

In the autumn of 1950, Badou mountain was temporarily relocated from Badou mountain to Xiaozhuang Normal University in Nanjing due to the need of national defense construction.

In June 1951, the East China military and political Commission merged the East China agriculture and forestry cadre training class in Shanghai with Nanjing Agricultural School to establish the East China agriculture and forestry cadre school, which was taken over by the East China agriculture and forestry ministry.

In May 1953, due to the restructuring of the administrative region, the Department of agriculture and forestry of Jiangsu Province took over the East China Agricultural and forestry cadre school, and merged the third part, namely the secondary technical school, with the forestry class of Yixing agricultural school to establish Jiangsu agricultural and forestry technical school.

Nanjing Forestry School of Jiangsu Province

In August 1953, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's government, Jiangsu agricultural and forestry technical school was officially renamed Nanjing Forestry School.

In October 1954, the school changed its name to Nanjing Forestry School under the leadership of the Ministry of forestry.

From 1953 to 1957, the school changed the educational system from three-year system to four-year system, adjusted the specialty setting, mainly focused on forestry, and successively set up afforestation, forest management and other specialties.

In June 1962, the school was forced to suspend and all the students were sent home.

At the beginning of 1963, the Ministry of forestry approved the resumption of the school, directly under the leadership of the Ministry of forestry, and implemented the management system with the Ministry as the main body and the provincial dual leadership.

In 1964, the Ministry of forestry established the Nanjing forestry cadre school of the Ministry of forestry, which is under the unified management of the school.

In November 1972, the reform committee of Jiangsu Province made the decision of "Abolishing the establishment of Nanjing Forestry University and merging it into Nanjing Forestry Institute" (now Nanjing Forestry University).

In August 1979, the Ministry of forestry decided to resume Nanjing Forestry School and Nanjing forestry cadre school.

In March 1983, the school withdrew 116 staff from Nanjing Forestry Industry College, including 55 teachers, and initially established a teaching team.

In August 1983, the school resumed the enrollment of technical secondary schools.

In October 1983, the Ministry of forestry established the secondary professional education research center of the Ministry of forestry. The school implements the trinity management system of forestry school, cadre school and research center.

In 1993, the school has become the leading unit and Ministry Key School of more than 40 forestry schools in China.

In September 1994, with the approval of the central editorial board, Nanjing Forestry School was transformed into Nanjing People's Police School of the Ministry of forestry.

In 1998, the Ministry of forestry was changed into the State Forestry Administration, and the school was renamed Nanjing People's Police School of the State Forestry Administration.

In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Nanjing Forest Police College was established on the basis of Nanjing People's Police College of the State Forestry Administration.

In 2001, with the approval of the national development and Reform Commission, 1000 mu of land was acquired in Xianlin University Town, Nanjing. Xianlin Campus, as the main campus, undertakes the task of full-time general education; Huayuan Road Campus, as the base of In-service Police Training and continuing education.

In September 2009, with the approval of the Ministry of public security, the forest public security judicial identification center of the State Forestry Administration was established.

In September 2010, with the approval of the Ministry of public security, the judicial identification center of forest public security of the State Forestry Administration was officially established and attached to the school.

In March 2011, the school readjusted and added teaching units, including public security department, forest fire department, investigation department, criminal science and Technology Department, police management department, information technology department, police technology and tactics department, ideological and Political Department, teaching and training base and continuing education department. The junior college has reduced from the original seven majors to two majors of investigation and public security management, and has stopped recruiting junior college students since 2013, which highlights the dominant position of undergraduate education, and initially constructs a discipline group with forest public security and forest fire protection as its characteristics.

On May 22, 2014, the university successfully passed the evaluation of the bachelor's degree granting right conducted by the expert group of the academic degree committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's government.
