Qingzhou Island

Qingzhou island is now Qingzhou land. In the northwest of Macao Peninsula, it used to be a small island, with isolated mountains, no more than 50 meters high, surrounded by water, and a small area, but lush green trees, which is called Green Island in Portuguese.

brief introduction

"Xiangshan county annals" said, "Qingzhou mountain, two miles north of Macao, four miles south of the former Shanzhai." In 1555 (the 34th year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty), Portuguese missionaries built a church here, which was destroyed later. Qingzhou mountain was originally under the jurisdiction of Xiangshan County.

In 1886 (the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), the Chinese opened Qingzhou cement plant on the island, which was the first cement plant in China. In 1890 (the 16th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), Australia and Portugal built seawalls to extend to Qingzhou Island, but the British who took over the cement plant objected, so only one bridge was built to connect them.

In 1923, Macao and Portugal began to construct the Qingzhou seawall project, which gradually connected with the Macao Peninsula and became today's Qingzhou.

Qingzhou Island

20 kilometers southeast of Xiangzhou, outside the Pearl River Estuary. It is 7.5 km from Niutou island in the East, 2.8 km from Triangle Island in the southwest and 19 km from Macao in the northwest. It covers an area of 0.54 square kilometers. Because of trees, weeds, evergreen, so the name. It is composed of granite. The surface is yellow sand clay with a small amount of exposed rock. The top is Acacia formosana, with high grass in the northwest and many shrubs in the south. The terrain is high in the middle and gradually low around, showing East-West trend. There is a huge stone standing on the top of Qingzhou, the main peak, in the center of the island, overlooking the whole island. There are six caves with steep slopes. Most of the island is Leishi bank, and there are a few rocky banks in the west, with slopes of 30-42 degrees. There are wharf Bay and Qianwan, dry reefs and hidden reefs in the South and northeast of the island. On both sides of the island is the Qingzhou waterway, and on the north side is the water route between Macao and Hong Kong.

The main scenic spots on the island include "Qingzhou fishing fire", "Shenquan Diecui", "Niubi Guantao", "gutai fairyland" and so on. On the island, there are many new scenic spots, such as hopeful sea Pavilion, tidal path, Shiduo shop, leisure building and fishing platform, which can be used by tourists and swimmers for fishing, diving and fishing.

Native products

There are lobsters, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, starfish, all kinds of deep shellfish, fish and so on.
