Sifang contemporary art museum is located in the Sifang contemporary art Lake area on the Bank of Nanjing Bergamot lake. It was designed by American architect Steven Holl and officially opened on November 2, 2013. It presents the unique artistic and cultural landscape in Asia and even the world to the public. Sifang art museum is an important part of Sifang Lake District. The official name of Sifang Lake District is "China International Architectural Art Practice Exhibition". This project took ten years to collect and build the works of more than 20 international top architects and artists, creating an architectural ecology integrating functional architecture and a variety of art exhibition spaces. It is adjacent to the beautiful Bergamot lake and Laoshan Forest Park, so that architects and artists can perform their own practice in a quiet and spiritual environment. The opening exhibition "garden of difference" was held by Belgian curator Philippe Designed by Pirotte, the exhibition includes the works of olavier Eliasson, Zeng Genyu, Lucy raven, Marlene Dumas, Kan Xuan, catlan, Murakami, Ansem Kiefer, Yang Fudong, Zhou Chunya, Zhang Peili and many other contemporary artists active on the international stage, attracting a large number of artists and art lovers.

Sifang contemporary art museum is adjacent to the masterpieces of 24 architects, including jizaki shin, Mishima Hoshi, David edgaye, Zhang Yonghe, Wang Shu, Ai Weiwei and other Chinese and foreign architects.

Architectural design

Designed by American architect Steven hall, the art gallery fully explores the advantages of mobile perspective, different spatial levels, and vast mist and water area, showing the deep and mysterious space characteristics of early Chinese paintings. The museum is composed of a "field" of parallel perspective space and a black concrete garden wall made of bamboo. A light weight body is suspended above the garden wall. The first floor of the museum is a straight passage, while the upper volume of the passage is gradually transformed into a winding structure; the gallery on the upper floor is suspended in the air and unfolds clockwise, ending at the best view of Nanjing city. This rural site is connected with the visual axis of Nanjing, the great capital of Ming Dynasty, and adds a few urban customs.

I. public route: take bus D18, 694 and 681 to Zhenzhuquan terminal, get off and walk along the sign to Laoshan National Forest Park for about 20 minutes.

II. Self driving route: drive through Yangtze River tunnel or Yangtze River tunnel to Pukou Pearl Spring Park, follow the sign 200 meters ahead of the park gate and go up to Laoshan National Forest, about 5 minutes.
