Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum is the first and only paper Museum in Taiwan. According to the number of visitors, the museum arranged 1-2 demonstrations of hand-made paper and paper drying. The exhibition space is about 140 square meters, which is distributed on four floors, including static display, hand-made paper demonstration, paper science game, paper art sales and special exhibition. The paper culture can be presented in a rich and complete way. Those who are interested can practice it from adding dye, making paper and drying.
Tree fire Memorial Paper Museum
Located on Chang'an East Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, the Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum is the first paper Museum in Taiwan. After five years of preparation, it officially opened in 1995. In 1999, the foundation and the museum were jointly named as the Shuhuo Memorial paper culture foundation. It was established to commemorate and complete the founding of Chen Shuhuo and his wife, the founder of Changchun cotton paper relationship enterprise, who died in the Guangzhou air crash dying wish.

The paper museum was established to commemorate Chen Shuhuo and his wife, the founders of Changchun cotton paper, and to fulfill their wish to record traditional paper culture for their offspring. This is the first paper themed Museum in Taiwan. It is also a living museum that combines static display with dynamic participation. Even the red brick wall and black mud ground are the same as when Chen Shuhuo made handmade paper. Historical development
Changchun cotton paper enterprise was founded by Chen Shuhuo and his wife, Chen Fengjiao, in 1960. It is one of the important industries in Taiwan. Later, it established Sino Japanese special paper factory and Changying International Co., Ltd. the Sino Japanese special paper factory mainly manufactures machine-made cotton paper. Changying International Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in import and export trade, and then Longying International Co., Ltd. was established The main direction of spring Enterprise Co., Ltd. is paper processing products. It can be seen that Chen's husband and wife have made a great contribution to Taiwan's paper industry. Later, their descendants set up the Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum to enable people to have a deeper understanding of paper.
Floor Guide
The Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum has four floors, with a total area of about 160 square meters. It is mainly based on lively display design and educational activities that can guide the audience to participate in. It is hoped that through the collection and exhibition of paper history and cultural relics in Taiwan, more people can have a deep understanding of it, so as to carry forward the inseparable value of paper and Chinese culture.
Introduction to the floor of tree fire Memorial Paper Museum:
The first floor: display the handicrafts from all over the world, you can see the traditional handicrafts in the handicrafts paper factory, and sell books, paper products, art gifts and other related souvenirs for you to choose from.
Second floor: introduce the invention and spread history of papermaking in detail. You can get a glimpse of the mysteries of raw materials and dyes for papermaking. In the special exhibition room, we plan to display the theme related to paper.
Third floor: learn about the history of Taiwan's paper industry and appreciate the special features of Taiwan's paper town. Through hands-on operation, performance and demonstration, learn about the characteristics of paper and various common sense.
Fourth floor: manual paper mill, which can understand the processing methods of paper raw materials, including soaking, cooking and bleaching. In addition, various long-term and short-term paper teaching activities are launched to let you experience the fun of paper.
historical significance
In October 1990, the air crash at Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou killed Chen Shuhuo and his wife of Changchun cotton paper on the plane. In 1995, with the five-year preparatory efforts of the foundation, the museum was set up to promote "paper". Paper, a record of human civilization, in the production process, let our knowledge continue to grow.
On the top floor (the fourth floor), I saw children use cotton wadding to press out handmade paper. The staff also introduced how to make recycled paper, even rice paper for writing brush characters. On the third floor, I introduced the history of Taiwan's papermaking during the Japanese occupation, and introduced the raw materials and dyes of paper. On the second floor, it was for special exhibition purposes, showing the design of Ganggu paper. On the back of the first floor, there was the whole paper It's a small instrument for making paper.
