Aberdeen Promenade

Since the 1970s, reclamation works have been carried out in Aberdeen. The land is mainly used for the construction of Aberdeen centre and Aberdeen sea bypass. To the south of Aberdeen Harbour Road, a waterfront park has been built for recreational purposes.

Aberdeen Waterfront Park was opened in 1992. It is the third Waterfront Park in Hong Kong after Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront garden and Tsuen Wan waterfront park.

The Aberdeen waterfront park is about 800 meters long, extending from the junction of Aberdeen Waterfront Road and the western end of Aberdeen Avenue in the west, near Aberdeen fish wholesale market, and to Aberdeen Waterfront Road and Guanhai path in the East, near yigangju and Aberdeen tennis and squash center.

Aberdeen waterfront park is equipped with open-air square, children's playground and basketball court. There are a number of wharves along the coast, providing routes connecting Ap Lei Chau and the outlying islands of Hong Kong. There are also barges for treasure seafood boat.

Future development

If the plan for Aberdeen fisherman's Wharf is implemented, the existing site of Aberdeen waterfront park may become part of it and will be converted into a tourist attraction. However, in the newly published plan, the plan is greatly reduced and may only be replaced by the renovation of park facilities.
