Hangzhou's arts and crafts are an important part of China's splendid culture. The Hangzhou arts and crafts museum uses sculpture, ceramics, embroidery, weaving, metal and folk to describe the arts and crafts of Hangzhou. Hangzhou arts and Crafts Museum

Hangzhou arts and Crafts Museum is an industrial and artistic museum funded by Hangzhou municipal government. It is located in the West historical and Cultural District of gongchenqiao bridge, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It starts from the sword and umbrella Museum in the north, faces Dengyun road in the south, Xiaohe road in the west, and the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal in the East.

The museum building is transformed from the old workshop of Hangzhou Honglei silk weaving factory, with a total construction area of 18930 square meters and a floor area of 5149 square meters.

In September 2018, Hangzhou arts and Crafts Museum was approved as a national second-class Museum by China Museum Association.

Organization setup

Hangzhou arts and Crafts Museum (Hangzhou Museum of Chinese knives, scissors and swords, fans and umbrellas) is a department level financial subsidy institution, which is under the Management Committee of Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area (Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of garden culture and Hangzhou Beijing Hangzhou canal (Hangzhou section) Comprehensive Protection Committee). According to the actual needs, the museum consists of five departments: comprehensive management department, exhibition department, social propaganda and education department, cultural protection and scientific research department, cultural and creative exchange department.

architectural composition

The museum community covers an area of 47309 square meters, with a total construction area of 37862 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 14264 square meters. The four museum buildings are reconstructed from hangyimian (Tongyigong yarn factory), Honglei silk weaving factory and Qiaoxi local specialty warehouse, which are typical examples of Hangzhou's protection and utilization of industrial heritage. Among them, China Sword Museum, China Fan Museum and China Umbrella museum were built in September 2009, and Hangzhou arts and Crafts Museum was built in September 2011.

Relying on Hangzhou's profound cultural heritage and brilliant arts and crafts civilization, the museum community highly concentrates the essence of "the capital of handicraft industry" from the development history of Arts and crafts in Hangzhou, rich and colorful types of Arts and crafts, and exquisite works of Arts and crafts. It integrates the functions of exhibition, collection, research, training, and communication. It opens a window to the world to learn about Hangzhou's arts and crafts Build a platform for exchange and exchange, inheritance and development.

The construction of Hangzhou arts and Crafts Museum is the expansion and upgrading of the three national museums of sword, fan and umbrella in the original block. While integrating the ancient canal, old factory buildings and Hangzhou industrial and artistic culture, the four museums together form an industrial and artistic theme museum community with Hangzhou characteristics and canal characteristics, featuring canal landscape, historical buildings and arts and crafts, integrating exhibition, collection, research, training and exchange. Venue features

The museum is divided into four floors. The basic exhibition of Hangzhou arts and crafts is located on the third floor, with a total area of 3000 square meters. Mainly from the six categories of sculpture, ceramics, embroidery, weaving, metal technology, folk arts and crafts, this paper focuses on the development history of Hangzhou arts and crafts, and its outstanding artistic achievements. At the same time, the exhibition hall is also equipped with a second classroom interaction area, which can carry out various kinds of rich craft experience activities.

The second floor of the museum is the master studio and temporary exhibition hall, which is a platform for art exchange and creative research. Among them, there are 16 types of master studios and 28 masters in total, which shows the vitality of Hangzhou arts and crafts industry.

The first floor of the museum is a public service area, a boutique exhibition area and a special leisure space. The museum area with reasonable layout and complete functions can meet the needs of visitors at different levels for visiting, appreciating, learning, communicating, shopping or leisure.
