Ming granary is located in the east of Zhangye City, formerly known as ganzhoucang, commonly known as Dacang. In the 25th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, it was built by Song Sheng, the governor of Gansu Province. After renovation and construction, it occupied an area of 4659 square meters and could store 7.7 million kilograms of grain. There are 54 houses in 9 blocks, with a building area of 1982.8 square meters. The roof truss is a "herringbone" shaped beam, which is made of beams, purlins and rafters. The barn is strong and durable, ventilated and earthquake resistant, and the grain storage has the functions of moisture-proof, rat proof, insect proof and mildew proof. The granary construction in Ming Dynasty has a history of more than 600 years, which played an important role in grain storage and food supply. Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, most of the grain purchased by Zhangye has been stored in Dongcang. The granary of Ming Dynasty can still store grain, which is one of the oldest and most complete ancient granaries in China.
