General's tomb
It is said that after Cai Chong was captured, he took advantage of the chaos and broke free from the shackles. The place where he escaped was now the ditch. He fled to the west, took off his armor, and moved forward lightly, leaving the place with the name of fangjiapu. When he continued to run westward for some time, he died on the North Bank of the Chuanhe river due to his serious injury. Later, people buried him on the spot and called his tomb general's tomb. The village was also called general's Tomb Village.
At the foot of Taihang Mountain, more than 50 kilometers to the west of Xingtai City, there is a big round hill covered with emerald cypresses, which is the famous historic site of general tomb in the area. It has a history of more than 2500 years. Speaking of the tomb of the general, we all know it. But who was this ancient general? Why are you buried here? Not many people may know. The mid spring and Autumn period of the sixth century BC was the time when the "twelve princes" were attacked and killed in wars. In 661 BC, the Di people of the northern Qiang nationality invaded Xingtai. The king of Xingtai appealed to Qi for help. With the help of Duke Huan of Qi, he defeated the Di people and moved the capital to Yiyi city (Jiangshui) in 659 BC. However, the relocation of the capital did not avoid the war. In order to "expand the territory", Zheng State, the dominant party at that time, flagrantly sent troops to attack Xing state. Cai Chong, the general of Zheng State, led the army to drive straight in and approached the "Yidong three passes" of Xing state. At this critical moment, Xing's army held fast to the pass and made use of its geographical advantages to win by surprise. In the battle of Heilongguan, Cai Chong, commander-in-chief of Zheng's army, was seriously injured, defeated and captured.
