Banbidian Forest Park is located 10 kilometers south of Huangcun village in Daxing District, 35 kilometers away from the urban area. Banbidian Forest Park is made of sandy land along the river bank. In 1982, Daxing decided to build a forest here. In 1985, Beijing municipal government decided to build a forest park here, planting about 20 kinds of trees, such as poplar, willow, pine, cypress, locust, cedar, pear, apple, etc. At that time, it was named "Longhe Forest Park". In 1986, it was expanded, covering an area of 133 hectares. In 1988, it was built into a forest park with bridges, pavilions, water and other landscapes. Chen Yun inscribed "Banbidian Forest Park" with seven characters.

Development history

The original site of Banbidian Forest Park was a large area of sandy wasteland. It was built in 1985. After many years of afforestation, more than 200000 poplar, locust, willow, cedar, pear and apple trees have been planted. The green territory has gradually expanded, and finally the scale of the forest park has been formed.
