Beijing geological hall is located at No.30, Xisi Yangrou Hutong, Xicheng District, Beijing. With a total construction area of 5000 square meters, it is a multi-functional and comprehensive cultural and entertainment place. In 1959, the predecessor of the geological auditorium of the Ministry of Geology and mineral resources was "Li Siguang lecture hall". At that time, the auditorium covered an area of 2000 square meters. Later, it was expanded twice to meet the needs of meetings and lectures of the Ministry of Geology and mineral resources, and also to show films.

From May 1985 to the end of 1988, the Ministry of geology rebuilt the geological auditorium thoroughly for three years. The new geological auditorium has a total construction area of 5000 square meters. The appearance is gorgeous and beautiful, and the hall is beautiful and spectacular. There are three floors above the ground and one floor under the ground. There are 1349 seats in the big movie studio and many small halls with different functions. Central air conditioning is adopted. The new geological hall has laid a solid foundation for the future development. On January 1, 1989, the geological auditorium, as the first internal auditorium of national ministries and commissions, was opened to the public. The "health and beauty concert" jointly held by Beijing Municipal Bureau of health and Beijing TV station was held in the geological hall.

Geological auditorium passed ISO9000 quality certification in 2007. In line with the purpose of "creating first-class service", the auditorium provides high-quality service for the audience.

There are more than 80 theaters in Beijing, with more than 10000 performances a year, most of which are undertaken by more than 20 major theaters. The remaining 50 theaters and auditoriums have little or no performances, and are idle for a long time. The geological auditorium, built in 1959, used to be one of them. After it was renovated according to theater standards in the 1980s, except for occasional internal meetings, it usually used to show movies. After the renovation was completed in October, the geological auditorium began trial operation. Crosstalk, drama, music and dance began to be staged here. According to the schedule of the theater, the "new man" of the theater is very popular in Beijing performance market. The famous comedy writer Wang Bao's comedy season, Beijing traditional culture performance, Lin Zhaohua's drama works exhibition, folk song night performance season and other performances all come to grab the schedule.
