It is said that there was once an aunt and sister-in-law who made a vow to pay homage to the Buddha, collected money to buy a boat, crossed the lotus ocean and made pilgrimage to the mountains. The boat just berthed at the end of the road. Unfortunately, her sister-in-law "Tiangui" (the moon event) was coming. She was ashamed of her uncleanness and did not dare to get off the boat and enter the mountains. His sister-in-law complained that she had no fortune to make a pilgrimage. She left her aunt in the boat and went to the mountain to worship Buddha alone. Unexpectedly, near noon, the tide surged, and the boat was separated from the shore. My sister-in-law sat in the boat for a long time, and her stomach was empty. Just then, a village woman came to the shore with her food box, threw some stones into the tide, stepped on these stones and went straight to the boat. She said that her sister-in-law had asked her to bring them. She put down her food box and left the boat. After returning from the pilgrimage, my sister-in-law asked about her past. She was surprised. She suddenly remembered that when she was worshiping the lotus seat, she saw that the clothes of Guanyin were wet. She realized that this was the manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva. She was so ashamed that she was so busy that she went into the mountain to worship Guanyin. Because her sister-in-law had been "shorting her aunt" at the wharf, from then on, the place where her sister-in-law berthed the boat was called "short aunt Daotou". It is said that it is the stone that Bodhisattvas throw into the tide to stamp their feet when they deliver food. Later generations call it the "short aunt's holy trace"

When you enter the gate of the Buddha kingdom of Putuo Mountain, 300 meters to the Southeast (near "entering the samadhi"), you will find the Taoist head of short Gu, also known as the holy trace and historic site of short Gu.

brief introduction

It used to be a beach. On the beach, there are more than ten meters wide and more than 100 meters long. Small stones are attached to each other. On both sides of the beach, there are rocks of different sizes and shapes. On the rocks, there are 14 inscriptions, such as "ancient site of short Gu", "Cihang Pudu", "Daoyi Tongzheng", "the first Buddhist kingdom" and "happy land", which appear in the tide and waves. In ancient times, when the boat arrived at the head of short Gu Road, it couldn't reach the shore. It needed a small sampan that was less than ten feet long and three feet wide to ferry. In 1905, the abbot of Putuo Mountain had two eminent monks, Yu and Lian. As a result, the tide was ebb and flow, and it was inconvenient for ships to dock, so they raised money to build a stone road with a width of 8 meters and a length of 11 meters. Before the Putuo Mountain passenger terminal was built, all visitors who came to Putuo Mountain for pilgrimage and sightseeing had to go ashore. After the completion of the passenger terminal, it will be opened to tourists as a tourist attraction.

The origin of short aunt's holy mark

At noon, the tide rises and the road stops, so there is no food to eat. It's suitable for an old woman to carry blue, throw stones into the water, pay enough money to the boat, and send food to Gu. Gu is very strange. I don't know who. In the afternoon, my sister-in-law worshipped the Buddha and returned the boat, and gave food to my aunt, who said, "in an instant, the old lady has brought food! Everyone is surprised that there is a Buddha! My sister-in-law hurriedly returned to the temple to pray and look at the rosette. The clothes and skirts of the grand master were still wet. Hence the name "short Gu" is a holy mark.
