Lianxiangguan is next to Yangjiazhuang along today's kunwan highway. Today it is yaozhan town of Lufeng County. To the East is the towering yanglaoshao mountain. The highway spirals down the mountain to lianxiangguan. The word Lian Xiang originated in the Yuan Dynasty. It is said that it is named after the towering mountains around it, which are reddish brown in shape like giant elephants and red as Lian. The Ming Dynasty began to set up the Lian Xiang Guan Fang, which was said to be the key to strangle the nine counties. In 1643 A.D., a wall of stone city was built and four gates were set up to guard it. There is chongguan building outside the west gate. On the stone wall in front of the gate is engraved with the emperor's ten thousand years and eight big buildings. Lianxiangguan is located in yaozhan village committee, yaozhan Township, Lufeng County. It is 25 ° 07 ′ n, 102 ° 05 ′ - 102 ° 14 ′ e, with an altitude of 1616 meters. It covers an area of about 0.5 square kilometers. It has a warm climate all year round and an average annual temperature of 17-18 ℃. It is the nearest ancient pass to Kunming and a relatively complete ancient pass preserved in the province. In February 2002, it was approved as a provincial historical and cultural village by the provincial people's government and listed in the protection list. It is 80 kilometers away from Kunming, 96 kilometers away from Chuxiong, and 18 kilometers away from the county seat. In ancient times, it was an important road leading to Western Yunnan, and also the intersection of Dianchi culture and Erhai culture. In the long history, when the northwest silk road was covered by the vast desert, the historical relics of the Southwest Silk Road were left here. From Kunming to the ancient capital of Dali, the third pass in the "nine passes and eighteen shops" remains, that is, after Biji pass and Laoya pass, to Lianxiang pass. Lianxiangguan, the name of lianxiangguan, was first called in Yuan Dynasty. It was named because of its red towering mountains and its shape like an elephant tempered by fire.

brief introduction
Along the 320 National Highway (Dian Mian Road), about 70 kilometers from Kunming westbound, when you go down Yangjiazhuang on the slope of yanglaoshao, you can see a village connected by a small road at the foot of the mountain, that is lianxiangguan. The small road is an important part of the ancient Silk Road in Southwest China. Once upon a time, Kunming and Dali had to go through "nine passes and eighteen shops". Nowadays, most of the ancient roads in Xiongguan pass have been smoothed by the wind and dust of the years. Only the third pass, lianxiangguan pass, remains the same.
history
Lianxiangguan was built in Ming Dynasty (1643 ad, the 16th year of Chongzhen). It is composed of wudaoguanlou, GuJie, residential courtyard and Sanhua temple. The total length from Guankou to Guanwei is 750 meters. There are five guanlou, a stone arch bridge and dozens of salt merchants' courtyards, which are rare. "Lian Xiang Guan" ancient post road is 2 meters wide, paved with local hard bluestone. After years of wind and rain erosion, the marks left by the horse's hooves can still be clearly seen. Lianxiangguan building is more than 12 meters high and nearly 9 meters wide. It is a three story building. The lower floor is a semicircular gate hole and a bluestone building. The second and third floors are civil structures with circular corridors and pileup. After entering the pass from Chengmen cave, another pass building is 50 meters away, which is called "guojielou". The pass building is also a three-story building with cornices and corners. It is also called "Ximen Lou" when it is 200 meters away from the pass. At 50 meters away from the gate building is "chongguanlou", which is the passage to exit the pass. There is also "dengmenlou" outside the pass building. When you enter the ancient house in the past, it is almost 100 meters deep. There are three quadrangles, walking horses and stringing turrets. There are carved dragons and Phoenix in the courtyard, and the hollow doors and windows are exquisitely carved.
According to historical records, when the household registration was checked in 1930, there were more than 1400 households and 6500 merchants in lianxiangguan, all of them Han people. At that time, the economy was prosperous and the culture was rich, including Dongjing Association, chaobeidou Association, Tianguan Association, playmates Association, drama and so on. At the end of 2002, there were 287 households and 1109 people in lianxiangguan.
