Tianmen Mountain Scenic Spot

Tianmen Mountain tourist area is located in Daqiao Town, Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is close to the golden passage of the Yangtze River, close to the 205 National Road, land and water transportation is very convenient. Tianmen Mountain is the place where Li Bai, a famous ancient Chinese poet, chanted "looking at Tianmen Mountain". The artistic conception of his poem "the gate of heaven interrupts the river and sky of Chu, the clear water flows eastward to this place, the green mountains on both sides of the Strait come out relatively, and the sails come to the edge of the sun alone" is best reflected here. Landscape across time and space, culture through the long river, years of waves, generation after generation. The planning base of Tianmen Mountain tourist area covers an area of 105 hectares, which is divided into two parts: "outside the dike" and "inside the dike". Among them, there are about 46 hectares of land outside the dam and 59 hectares of land inside the dam. In the east of the base, the "ecological green space control area" is also planned and reserved. At the foot of the northeast of Tianmen Mountain in the base is the famous "copper Buddha Temple". Tianmenshan National Forest Park is located in Yongding District of Zhangjiajie City. It is the second National Forest Park in Zhangjiajie City, only 2km away from the city. Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area, located in the southern suburb of Zhangjiajie City, is a national 5A tourist area and a mountain type natural scenic area. The total area is 96 square kilometers, and the peak area is 2 square kilometers. The main peak of Tianmen Mountain scenic spot is 1518.6 meters above sea level. It is the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie. In ancient times, it was called Songliang mountain, also known as Mengshan mountain and fanghu mountain. The lowest altitude is 161 meters.

Tianmen Mountain, with an altitude of 1350-1500m, is a complete synclinal structural unit geologically, with a typical mountain karst platform peak forest Canyon landform. On the top of the mountain is karst platform cliff landscape, and on the bottom of the mountain is karst peak forest canyon landscape. Karst hills, stone buds, depressions, funnels and caves are widely distributed in the whole mountain.

Climatic characteristics

Tianmen Mountain belongs to the prototype monsoon climate of the middle subtropical mountain, with the climate characteristics of warm and cool, humid and foggy, and no obvious summer. The daily temperature is about 6-8 degrees lower than that in the urban area, but the sunshine time is 12-14 hours. Because of the difference of height and temperature, the four seasons of daily life have evolved into two seasons in Tianmen Mountain. There is no hot summer here, only the warmth of spring. Every year from May to October, Tianmen Mountain is shrouded in a strong sense of spring. From November every year, Tianmen Mountain has entered winter.

A total of 1649 species of seed plants were recorded in Tianmen Mountain Park, belonging to 701 genera and 161 families, including 6 families, 8 genera and 12 species of gymnosperms and 1637 species of 693 genera and 155 families of angiosperms. Carpinus davidianus and Rhododendron Tianmenshan are new tree species discovered in 1985 and 2006 respectively.

Tianmen dongkai scenic spot

Tianmen dongkai scenic spot is located in the middle and upper part of Tianmen Mountain, with an altitude of 1300 meters. It is the only scenic spot not on the top of the mountain. Tianmen cave is the most representative scenic spot in Tianmen Mountain.

As a natural karst cave with the highest altitude in the world, Tianmen cave is like a gate to heaven inlaid in the sky.

Huang Jinxiang, a famous scholar, once wrote a poem "a tour of Tianmen Mountain": "the precipice is full of thousands of peaks, and the winding plank road leads to the cloud platform. Tianmen cave

Tianmen cave is a natural karst cave with the highest altitude in the world. Biye Yaotai scenic spot

As a National Forest Park, Tianmen peak has a complete primeval forest, and the core reserve of primeval forest is in Biye Yaotai scenic area. Here, mossy stones can be seen everywhere, rare tree species and precious medicinal materials can also be found from time to time. The whole scenic spot is like a natural bonsai. Tourists can enjoy the fun of nature when they walk on the winding road. Located in the east of the top of the mountain, Biye Yaotai scenic spot is characterized by natural scenery and has more than 20 scenic spots, which is the largest of the four scenic spots in Tianmen Mountain.

hippocrene

Lingquan is called "Shenquan" by the local people. It gushes out from the crevice of the rock and never dries up for years. It is cool and sweet. Lingquan courtyard, named after Lingquan, was built in the Tang Dynasty. Zhou Pu, a scholar, once lived in seclusion here.

Yunmeng xianding

Yunmeng xianding is one of the sixteen peaks of Tianmen Mountain.

Primary secondary forest

Tianmen peak has a complete primary secondary forest, which is full of wild interest all year round. It is a rare "primitive sky garden".

Overlooking Tianmen from the North

The North overlooking Tianmen is opposite to the South overlooking Tianmen, which is also an excellent angle to clearly overlook Tianmen cave.

Cherry bay

Human history

In the early years, it was not called Tianmen Mountain, but Songliang mountain. Because the mountain looks like a copper pot, it is also called Hutou mountain. Therefore, the mountain rises like a screen on the South Bank of the Lishui River, so it is also called Yuping mountain. The reason why it is called Tianmen Mountain is that the stone wall of the mountain is open. After opening a Tianmen gate, it is renamed Tianmen Mountain.

As early as in the Three Kingdoms period, Zhangjiajie had no county. There was only one Acropolis named dayongwei, which was under the jurisdiction of Cili County in Wuling county and belonged to the territory of the state of Wu. Songliang mountain is a famous scenic spot of Wu state. In the sixth year of Wu Yong'an of the Three Kingdoms (263 A.D.), the cliff of Songliang mountain suddenly collapsed and a heavenly gate appeared. They think that Songliang cave is open and Ziqi is coming to the East, and Dayong will surely be blessed. So many people prostrate on the ground, begging for auspicious omen. When a Taoist in the city saw the opening of Songliang cave, he turned pale with fright. He fell on the ground and wailed bitterly, shouting that heaven was angry. Songliang collapsed, and Dayong's good fortune flew away. From then on, Dayong will be restless. The owner reported the news to Wu Wang and sun Xiu. Sun Xiu came to the scene to have a look and said with a smile: "this is a sign of auspiciousness. "That is to say, half of Wuling county will be cut off and Tianmen county will be set up in Dayong. From then on, Songliang mountain was renamed Tianmen Mountain.
