Development history
The main building is composed of Zhongtian Hall (demolished in 1987 due to the expansion of chating Road), Jinmu hall and di Mu hall. It is an ancient temple integrating Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. The structure of the two existing halls is roughly the same: there are ear rooms on both sides of the main hall; there are clear rooms and secondary rooms on both sides of the hall; there are glazed double dragons playing with pearls on the top ridge; there are flower and bird carvings on the main ridge of the hall; there are murals on the front wall of the gallery top. Liang Hongxu wrote miscellaneous records of Beihai in Qing Dynasty, praising: "the temple is magnificent in appearance and is the crown of all temples in Beihai.".
There are two existing halls, Jinmu and Dimu. The gate tower of Pudu earthquake palace was built at the former site of Zhongtian hall. The palace garden is beautiful and quiet.
