Yu Dafu's former residence is located in Yu Dafu park on the South Bank of Fuchun River. At that time, it was Manchuria lane, which was called Dafu lane after liberation. Introduction to former residence
Located at the intersection of Fuchun road and Shixin road in Fuyang district (in Yudafu Park), it is a brick and wood structure, three Bay two-story building, facing south from north. Introduction to Yu Dafu
Yu Dafu (1896-1945), a famous poet and writer in modern China, is an outstanding patriot and anti fascist cultural fighter. In September 1913, he studied in Japan with his elder brother Yu Hua (mantuo). After returning to China in 1922, he taught in Peking University, Wuhan University and Sun Yat sen University. He mainly engaged in literary activities and published more than five million words of works, such as "sinking", "the night of spring wind intoxication". With Guo Moruo and Cheng Fangwu, he founded the progressive literature group "creation society" and co edited "galloping current" monthly with Lu Xun. In 1930, he initiated and organized the great alliance of Chinese freedom movement with Song Qingling and others, and in the same year, he initiated and organized the alliance of Chinese left-wing writers with Lu Xun and others. At the end of 1938, at the invitation of Singapore's "Star Island daily", a supplement of "Morning Star" was published, and it was promoted to be the head of the anti enemy working group of overseas Chinese cultural circles. In February 1942, on the eve of the Japanese occupation of Singapore, Hu Yuzhi and others fled to Sumatra to seek refuge. They took the pseudonym of Zhao Lian and raised funds to open Zhao Yuji distillery to cover the Anti Japanese cultural people and rescue the Indonesian people and the local overseas Chinese. On August 29, 1945, he was secretly killed by the Japanese gendarmes. In December 1952, the Central People's government recognized him as a revolutionary martyr.
