Yuxiang gate is a gate of Xi'an city wall, also called xiaoximen. It is a gate of the west city wall, north of the west gate. In the Republic of China, song Zheyuan, chairman of Shaanxi Province, opened this gate to commemorate the historical achievements of general Feng Yuxiang and named it Yuxiang gate. In 1926, the Northern Warlord Liu Zhenhua besieged Xi'an for eight months, causing more than 40000 people to starve to death in Xi'an. It was not until general Feng Yuxiang led the national army to defeat Liu Zhenhua that Xi'an was able to extricate itself from the siege. There is yuxiangmen square outside Yuxiang gate, the road is Daqing Road, and Lianhu road inside.
