Yipu is adjacent to Geyuan in the East, at 356 Dongguan Street. It was built by Li Hesheng, a money broker in the early Republic of China. Among the residential gardens in Yangzhou, most of the gardens are built after the houses, but the garden houses are on the left. The gate is octagonal and carved with the word "Yipu" on the forehead. Enter the gate, that is, arrive at the garden gate, leading people all the way to the back of the house. Facing the fire lane, the west is five residential areas. The original Lake stone rockery in the east of the lane is built with a wall. It is slightly buckled and the wall rock is tight, which forms a false and solid contrast with the tile wall at the top of the wall. On the side of the mountain, a peony terrace was built, and the flowers were as beautiful as brocade. At the end of the north end of the rockery, a pentagonal half pavilion was built against the wall. There are three flower halls under the pavilion. The decoration is very exquisite. The ceiling of the veranda is all carved with light carvings. Wang Banya and Wu yangeng, famous painters in Yangzhou, once set up inkstones here. Turning from the west to the north of the flower hall, a vase shaped door is opened on the east side of the fire lane, with the title of "Wenjing". There is a corner of the garden with flowers, trees, rocks and three small pavilions in the north. Xuan back home courtyard, along the Dengdao up to the corridor, that is, from the back of the building into the garden. After the residence at the end of the fire lane, the garden was originally connected to the rocks by a compound road and turned to the northwest. There are three buildings facing the west, facing the peak. The building has a winding ladder to go down, and a Wisteria stand beside it. The old man is as dry as Qiu, and the steps are scattered green, which adds a lot of color. In the past, the back garden used to have the moon watching Pavilion, purple bamboo forest and other landscapes. The Yipu garden is similar to the Suzhou Quyuan garden, which is laid out in the form of a curved square. However, it is more ingenious than the Quyuan garden, forming a complex and changeable realm. By using the technique of "survival in a desperate situation", we can turn the small courtyard into a separate garden to create a layout that seems to be exhausted but not exhausted. Unfortunately, rockery, Banting, Bitan and fudaolang have disappeared. In 1962, it was actually a municipal cultural relics protection unit. Yangzhou Academy of traditional Chinese painting once set up this office, and now it is a residential building. Yipu, adjacent to Geyuan in the East, is located at 356 Dongguan Street. It was built in 1910 by Li Hesheng (1871-1937), the owner of Huiyu bank, a money broker in the early Republic of China. It was designated as a municipal cultural relic protection unit in 1962 and selected as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 2013
.
Yipu used to be the office of many organizations. Yangzhou class education exhibition hall was set up here in those years, and became the best of its kind in Jiangsu Province. In 1960, Yangzhou people's radio station was also established in Yipu, with the flower hall as the Department. The last house to enter was the studio and recording room. This is where Wang Shaotang's Yangzhou Pinghua Wusong was recorded. Later, Yipu became the office of Yangzhou traditional Chinese painting academy and Yangzhou people's publishing house.
layout
The gate of Yipu is to the south, with six entrances in the West and a garden in the East. When you enter Yipu, the first thing you can see is the octagonal gate in the East, on which there are two big characters "Yipu" written in official script. Enter from the octagonal gate, then "straight to the point", along the east courtyard wall, there is a long string of rockery, built on the half Pavilion. It is understood that the rockery pavilion was destroyed in 1966, and this time it was rebuilt. On the north side of the garden is an exquisite flower hall, behind which is a study and a library. There are exquisite shallow carvings on the ceiling of the veranda of the flower hall. In the back of the hall is a courtyard with three rooms, which are covered with red sandalwood and exquisitely carved. There is a hidden door in the room to reach the back garden in the north of the house. There are lakes, rocks, rockeries, flowers and trees in the back garden, which are very exquisite. In the west of the garden is the reading building, which is a two-story building. There are four passageways to the reading building. In addition to climbing through the secret door, you can also enter from the last small building of the residence, through the corridor, from the rockery in the courtyard, and from the revolving stairs in the courtyard. The layout design is very exquisite.
What to watch
Yipu has four highlights: first, garden, second, mountain, third, gate and fourth, carving. There are two gardens in Yipu: one is facing the gate. Most of the gardens in Yangzhou are the front and back gardens, but the Yipu garden is built on the left side of the house. One is the west garden. The rockery building in the garden not only has beautiful scenery, but also makes full use of all kinds of buildings and passageways, extending in all directions, with ingenious conception.
The rockery of Yipu is also very attractive. Building pavilions and corridors on the mountain is a wonderful pen of Yipu. There are five corner pavilions on the rockery which is tens of meters long; there are half pavilions on the rockery which is above the fire lane, as if "floating" in the air. The doors of Yipu are of different shapes and features. Facing the gate is the octagonal gate, the fire lane leads to the east house is the vase gate, and the west garden is the peach gate. There are many brick and wood carvings in Yipu, which are very exquisite. Facing the brick carving "spring, summer, autumn and winter" on the gate of Dongguan Street, the brick carving of peony inlaid in the reading room, and the board carving of "five blessings and longevity" on the ceiling of the flower hall corridor, each carving is very exquisite and is a treasure of art.
