Shisi temple is located in Dazao village, Dazao Township, Jingning She Autonomous County, Zhejiang Province, 18.5 kilometers away from the county seat. It was built in the 10th year of Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (1140). Rumor has it that Mr. Xi of the Mei family, six years old, lived in Lu for three years and stayed close to his grandfather's tomb. After hearing the newspaper, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty praised him as "Xiaotong", and his Lu as "shisiyuan". In the first year of Hongwu (1368) of the Ming Dynasty, Liu Ji wrote "shisidaochao", and in the first year of Xuande (1426), he changed his courtyard into a temple. During the reign of emperor Shunzhi and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, it was repaired twice. The existing temple covers an area of 1193 square meters and is composed of Daxiong hall, Sanqing hall, Ma Xian palace, Xinjing bell tower and mountain gate. The main hall consists of five double eaves with four entrances, a hilltop, and a wooden structure. The double eaves are raised out of the eaves by two steps. In 1985, it was identified by experts from the Institute of ancient architecture of the Cultural Relics Bureau of the central Ministry of culture as a Song Dynasty building, ranking the third among the existing song and Yuan Dynasty buildings in Jiangnan. In December 1989, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of the province. Shisi Temple
Shisi temple is a temple where Buddhism and Taoism are integrated. It is located at the south end of Xier village, Dafang Township, Jingning She Autonomous County, Zhejiang Province. It covers an area of 0.27 hectares and a construction area of 1250 square meters.
Shisi temple was first built in the 10th year of Shaoxing in the Song Dynasty. It was named Shisi courtyard by Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty. It was expanded in the 16th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1356). It was renamed Shisi temple in the first year of Xuande of the Ming Dynasty, and was continued in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty.
Sitting in the West and facing the East, Shisi temple is composed of Mountain Gate, Heart Sutra bell tower, Daxiong hall, Sanqing hall, Ma Xian palace and Mei's ancestral hall. It is an ancient temple complex with Han style layout. The ancient temple preserves ancient buildings with the characteristics of song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. With a long history and simple elegance, it is a rare ancient temple in China.

The main hall of Shisi temple is three rooms wide and two rooms deep, with a rest on the top of the mountain, a circle of secondary steps, an obvious rolling brake on the stigma, and a lotus base on some of the stigmas. According to the inscriptions left in the hall, the hall was built in the 16th year of the Yuan Dynasty. The bell tower has three rooms on the plane, which is a three storey Pavilion style. The building is retracted layer by layer, with obvious side feet. Four inner columns run through the three floors, and the roof is Xieshan. It is wrapped around the waist and stretched out from the eaves, with the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty. Sanqing palace and Ma Xian palace were built in Qing Dynasty.

Historical Relics Identification
Shisi temple was identified as Song Dynasty architecture by experts from Institute of ancient architecture, cultural relics bureau, Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China in 1985. It is the third existing song and Yuan Dynasty architecture in Jiangnan. In December 1989, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of the province.
