Li Zongren's former residence is located in Langtou village, Liangjiang Town, Lingui County, about 30 kilometers away from Guilin city. It was built in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It covers an area of 5060 square meters. It is a two-story wooden building, consisting of an'erdi, jiangjundi, Xueguan, Sanjin living room and turret. It has 7 courtyards, 13 patios and 113 halls. Introduction to former residence

Mr. Li Zongren

(1891-1969), a famous patriot, the acting president of the former national government, the commander of the national defense war, the law protection movement, the northern expedition, and the Taierzhuang war, and the leader of the GUI faction in the period of the Republic of China. He returned from the United States in 1965, and his pioneering work of returning to the motherland occupies an important page in the great cause of reunification.

Visiting Li Zongren's official residence and former residence, you can feel his ups and downs and complicated historical career; the journey of returning to the motherland; the furnishings, home life and the end of his political career of a former acting president of the national government; and his legendary life of "youth, army and yellow flowers in the evening". In his former residence, there are interesting and mysterious folk Fengshui theories and philosophy, as well as colorful folk culture in northern Guangxi.

Li Zongren and Bai Chongxi are called "Li Bai". They are the most powerful local military force in the KMT - the center of the GUI clan, and have been cooperating for many years. At first, they joined Sun Yat Sen's revolutionary camp in Guangzhou, and united to drive out the old warlords in Guangxi.

During the northern expedition, he led the Guangxi army to Shanhaiguan. After the success of the northern expedition, they fought with Chiang Kai Shek and other local forces for many times. After the outbreak of the eight year Anti Japanese War, they mobilized the army of Guangxi to fight against the Japanese army, and cooperated to command many wars, and they won many victories. Langtou village is 30 kilometers away from Guilin city and is located among the beautiful countryside trees. The name of this village is also a bit special. It is called "Mu Tian Mu". There is no such word in the dictionary. The villagers say that it is specially chosen for them, and it will become a wave village when they read it in pronunciation. Li Zongren's house was built when he became commander in chief. Built in the 1920s, it is backed by two unique mountains in Guilin - the foot of Tianma mountain.

Historical records

I don't know how Li Zongren chose to build this magnificent building at the foot of Tianma mountain in Langtou village. Tianma mountain, like a pillar of the southern sky, reminds people of Li Zongren's supporting role in "modern China". That day, Mashan stood like a pillar of the southern sky on the plain, which not only reminds people of the geomantic omen of the backers, but also reminds people of how Li Zongren played a supporting role in "modern China"?

It is not difficult to see at a glance if we try to look through the history books. He is also a main pillar in the high-rise building of "modern China". Tianma mountain rises from the flat ground like a roaring horse with high head. There is a low hill head in the south, forming a saddle shape in the middle, and the head is raised to the northeast. Some people have pointed out that the Li family should make great achievements in the northeast. Coincidentally, in 1928, when his former residence was completed, Li Zongren, along the northeast direction of Tianma mountain and the gate, from Guangxi to Shanhaiguan, became a national hero. It's twenty minutes to walk around Li Zongren's former residence. All of a sudden, I found that there was a mountain in the south of Li Zongren's former residence and a backer in the southwest. Although the development to the South was hindered, it could maintain stability.

Li Zongren fought in danger all his life, but he didn't worry about his life. I feel that the road in front of the gate is narrow and there are too many cars. It's rumbling like a county road, passing close to the wall of my former residence. The road is higher and the former residence seems shorter. It's not a place to build this road. According to the old saying, it's a bit of Fengshui. In my opinion, Lingui district should move this road when it has money.

Four courtyards

Li Zongren's former residence was built in 1920s, about 90 years ago.

The compound is irregular rectangular, covering an area of 4550 square meters. It is surrounded by clear water wall and high wall, with a height of 9.57 meters and a thickness of 45 cm. The top cover is hard hill type double slope green tile head. The wall head is built with "gold wrapped with iron" (i.e. inside and outside green brick wrapped with mud), and two turrets are set diagonally.

It is divided into four courtyards, namely antongdi, jiangjundi, Xueguan and Sanjin living room. All of them are two-story, all of them are of wood structure. They are connected by many doors with a height of 8.68 meters and a building area of 4361 square meters. The second building is "two in front, three rooms, one well, two back rooms, front and rear rooms, the back door of the building, the incense wall, the doors on both sides of the main hall, and the building well type shrine connecting to the roof"; the school hall is a large five bay structure, with a large open well for daylighting; the school hall is an open well for daylighting;

Three into the living room, the canal with large five bay, corridor loop, magnificent momentum, are concentrated in the characteristics of Northern Guangxi dwellings. The roof of the gate is decorated with a Dragon Ridge, and the downstairs is chiseled with a huge door frame made of granite. Bamboo knots are decorated on both sides of the gate. Couplets of "mountains and rivers are forever solid, heaven and earth are spring" are carved inside, and horizontal banners of "blue sky and white sun" are printed, reflecting the era atmosphere of Anti Japanese and national salvation after the September 18th Incident.

All buildings, wooden couplets, stone foundations, leaky flower panes, burnt flower skirt boards, vermilion square columns, pink and green wallboards.

It is surrounded by clear water walls and high walls, with a hard Hill shaped double slope green tile head. The wall head is built with "gold covered with iron" (i.e. inside and outside green bricks covered with mud), and two turrets are set diagonally. There are photos of Mr. Li Zongren in the hall and introductions of his great deeds. Most prominently, to the west of the mansion is a flat ground, which suddenly rises up like Duxiu Peak. It makes people feel that Li Zongren's flat ground rises.

This house was built in 1920s when Li Zongren was promoted from a platoon leader to a commander. It is a two-story brick and wood structure with seven courtyards, 13 patios and 113 rooms. It is composed of an'erdi, jiangjundi, Xueguan and Sanjin living room. It has the traditional architectural characteristics of the local residents in northern Guangxi and is quite different from the Jiangnan style of Chiang Kai Shek's former residence in Xikou, Zhejiang.

Backyard loft

There are attic, well pool, fish pond and kitchen in the backyard, where the turpentine originated. It has unique layout, ingenious conception and grand momentum. It not only has the manor style of dominating one side, but also has the architectural characteristics of folk houses in northern Guangxi. It is easy to remind people of the word "house with benevolent heart". Li's mansion is very generous. During the Anti Japanese War, Chiang Kai Shek and his wife Song Meiling stopped here.

The design of Li Zongren's former residence is very elegant. This is a home with an area of more than 5000 square meters. The whole building is a quadrangle wood structure, which is divided into upper and lower floors. The garden is decorated with a variety of precious trees. The former residence was built in 1911, the third year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty, and was extended three times before the Northern Dynasty. The layout is divided into living room, jiangjundi, academic hall, courtyard, attic in backyard, well pool, fish pond and turret in front and back corner. Li Zongren's former residence is made of earth yellow square bricks, tall and imposing courtyard walls and doors. Looking at the high wall courtyard, you can easily know the aesthetic values of people in that era. The high wall is very imposing and high. It seems to be even higher than the Jingjiang palace. It looks like a city wall and looks majestic. However, several windows on the wall are very small, like the holes of a gun in a blockhouse. However, this window is a curved shape, a bit of western style, and the host seems to have seen the world.

There is a "turret" in the East and West corners, which shows an obvious defensive style. On both sides of the gate carved with blue bricks and stones, the couplet of "mountains and rivers are forever solid, heaven and earth are spring" is prominently engraved, with extraordinary momentum. Wordless to show the long cherished wish of the master, not just want to be a general.
