Guangzhou ranging sub station of FY-2 Meteorological satellite is an integral part of the ground measurement and control system of FY-2. Together with Beijing and Urumqi ranging sub stations, it forms a three-point ranging system to provide orbit parameters for FY-2 Meteorological Satellite to determine the position of the sub satellite point. In order to ensure the accuracy, a ranging sub station is built in Australia, which is backup with Guangzhou ranging sub station.
