Baishui River in Pengzhou

Baishuihe nature reserve is located in Pengzhou City in the north of Chengdu Plain, with a total area of 301.5 square kilometers. It is the nearest nature reserve to Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, which mainly protects the rare wild animals and plants such as giant panda and their ecological environment. The area was established with the approval of Pengzhou Municipal People's Government in 1996, provincial nature reserve with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's Government in 1999 and National Nature Reserve with the approval of the State Council in 2002. The forest vegetation in Baishuihe nature reserve is well preserved and the biodiversity is very rich. There are 1770 species of vascular plants belonging to 695 genera of 164 families in the region, including 1619 species of seed plants belonging to 638 genera of 139 families, and the largest families of Compositae, Rosaceae, Gramineae and Liliaceae. They have been fully developed and developed here. They belong to national class I and II key protected plants, including nearly 20 species of Davidia involucrata, Lianxiang tree and Ginkgo biloba. There are 331 species of wild animals belonging to 222 genera of 75 families in 25 orders, including 97 species of mammals There are 166 species of birds, 23 species of reptiles, 21 species of amphibians and 24 species of fish, belonging to 7 species of national class I key protected animals, such as giant panda, golden monkey, leopard, clouded leopard, antelope, Golden Eagle and green tailed pheasant, 25 species of national class II key protected animals, such as red panda and macaque, and 11 species of Sichuan key protected animals, such as red fox, leopard cat and maoguan deer. In addition, there are some endemic animals in this area, such as Chengdu and Pengxian. Baishuihe National Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province is rich in ecotourism resources.
