Dunchong Hall
Dunchongtang, also known as zhongxiandi, was built in 1865. It was the residence of Jiang guigao, the head of the household department during the reign of Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty. It is a group of Hui style buildings with north facing south and horizontal layout.
The shop hall, the sedan chair hall, the reception hall and the main room hall are connected horizontally. Each of them has its own door, and the inner door is connected. The back is the garden. The architectural style fully reflects the status and wealth of the owner. The main house is one ridge, two halls, two patios and two floors. Open the gate from the East. The courtyard floor is paved with pebbles to form a coin pattern, which means that money is coming. There are also peace tanks in the main hall patio, which shows the strong fire prevention concept of Huizhou people. On both sides are two couplets rich in philosophy: cherishing time and clothes is not to cherish wealth and fortune, but to seek fame and profit is to seek oneself and not others. Dunxu inherits and extends the world, worships Confucianism, and promotes the family. The couplet clarifies the implied meaning of the name of Tang Dynasty, and also embodies the ancient thought of ruling the family.
