Dawu ancient town is one of the "four Dawu towns" in ancient Guangxi. It was built in 200 AD. The old Dawu street is not wide. At the foot of it is a polished stone road. The old houses on both sides are mostly two-story Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings with green bricks and tiles. Many ancient handicraft workshops, such as bamboo weaving workshop, straw sandal workshop, herbalist clinic and old barber shop, are still preserved, and the vicissitudes of history can be seen everywhere. The ancient town is very quiet. Most of the old houses are only left with the old people and children, which makes it more like being independent of the world.
To Dawu, Wanshou bridge is a must. Wanshou bridge was built in the Ming Dynasty. The stones on the bridge deck have been polished. To the west of the bridge is the Lijiang River, which is an excellent place to enjoy the Lijiang River and the snail mountain on the other side. In the evening, find a place to sit down and eat fresh river fish with the river breeze. It's simple and natural.
Dawu ancient town has not yet been fully commercial development. If you like the ancient style, you can go there. It is suggested to go with Guanyan and Gudong waterfall.

By the beginning of the Republic of China, eight streets had been formed in Dawu, namely: laowei street, Diling street, Long'an street, Xinglong Street, Tangfang street, Gulou Street, Siying street and Jianshe street. There are also more than ten yards along the river. It is said that "sailing upstream to Guilin, sailing downstream to Guangzhou". There are also many activities of celebrities in the town. When Sun Yat Sen set up his base camp in Guilin during the northern expedition, he set up his base camp at Tangfang Wharf in Dawu (December 4, 1921) and made a speech on the riverside. The earliest organization of the Communist Party of China in Lingchuan, the Dongxiang District Committee of the Communist Party of China in Guilin and the Maocun branch of the Communist Party of China, was established in Dawu in August 1928. At the foot of Mopan Mountain in Maozhou is the cemetery of Tang Jingsong, a famous anti French and anti Japanese general in the late Qing Dynasty.
In the ancient town of Dawu, the film "Third Sister Liu" has taken a lot of location shots here. More than a dozen films and TV plays are shot on location here. It has 17 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee and 161 natural villages. Dawu ancient town is not only a waterway transportation hub, but also a famous market trade distribution center. All the houses in the ancient town are of brick and wood structure. The door is a row of wooden boards. If you remove the boards in the morning, everything in your home is transparent. If you install the boards in the evening, you will be isolated from the outside world. Each of these houses is hundreds of years old. Walking on the stone paved street, there are "gululu" old people smoking hookah and yellow dogs dozing at the old people's feet in front of the house; fishermen with two Osprey standing on their shoulders walk past you in straw sandals and go fishing by the river; there are adjacent women playing routine, time seems to slow down here, life seems very calm, but very warm.
Walking along the stone road in the old street of the ancient town, you seem to go back to the past. The old houses on both sides tell you one old story after another. There are many ancient shops in the ancient town, such as bamboo weaving workshop, straw sandal workshop, herbalist clinic and old barber shop. The idle old people either sit on the street and read some yellow old books, or gather together to drink tea and play cards, and live peacefully. Some old people do what they can, such as assembling DC strobe lights.
Shiban road was built in the early Republic of China, along the coast. It is 2.5km long and 2m wide. It is mostly paved with bluestone slabs, with a total of 15000 pieces of materials, of which 0.5km is paved with pebbles. Ancient style, ancient rhyme, is basically intact. Along the road building, brick and wood structure; high eaves long platform (shop platform), front shop back room, narrow and deep as tube, commonly known as "tube house". There are 8 streets along the road: laowei street, Diling street, Long'an street, Xinglong Street, Tangfang street, Gulou Street, Fuxing street and Siying street. More Backstreet names are easier.
Wanshou Bridge
Wanshou bridge, built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1899, is a single arch stone bridge. It is located at the confluence of Ma River and Li River. The bridge is stable and simple.
