Historical evolution

Shixin University was founded by its founder Mr. Cheng SHEWO in 1956. In the autumn of 1956, the founder of Shixin University, Mr. Cheng SHEWO, established the "World Journalism vocational school" at gouzikou, Mucha, Taipei, in order to cultivate journalism and communication talents with "both morality and intelligence, and both hands and brain" There are 63 students in each class.

World Journalism College (1960.8 ~ 1991.7)

In 1960, the school was transformed into a "World Journalism College" with a three-year system and a five-year system. Up to 1990, there were eight three-year junior colleges and four five-year junior colleges with a total number of 6055 students.

World College of Journalism and communication (1991.8 ~ 1997.7)

In August 1991, with the approval of Taiwan's education authorities, it was restructured into the "World Institute of Journalism and communication", which initially set up five departments (divided into 12 groups) and stopped recruiting three-year and five-year majors. Mr. Ye Mingxun was elected as the chairman of the board of directors, and Dr. Cheng Jialing was appointed as the first president of the Reformed College. Recent performance

In 1997, the Institute of communication, the first private school in Taiwan and the second only one in Taiwan, was established.

In 2005, media literacy was listed as a compulsory course in Shixin University, which became the characteristic of Shixin curriculum.
