The Liaohe stele forest was built in 1999, and its landscapes are all archaize buildings. It is a treasure house of the essence of ancient and modern calligraphy. The stone tablets on display are rich in content, ranging from Neolithic pottery symbols to contemporary calligraphy, with more than 2000 inscriptions.
The pottery inscriptions, oracle bone inscriptions, silk inscriptions, bamboo inscriptions, Han and Wei inscriptions fully demonstrate the development and evolution of calligraphy style since Han and Wei dynasties; the works of master Erwang (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi), Yan and Liu fully reflect the different calligraphy styles and pursuits of Jin, Tang, song, yuan and Qing Dynasties; the modern calligraphy style represented by Yu Youren, Guo Moruo and Qigong His works show the charm of contemporary calligraphy.
Liaohe stele forest has been built into four calligraphy halls, stele Gallery, stele wall, gate archway and other scenic spots, and has become a large-scale antique building complex. The forest of Steles is an art treasure house that gathers the ink of famous calligraphers in the past dynasties. It is also an art Grand View Garden that integrates gardens, stone carvings, architecture, poetry and fu works. It has rich cultural connotation.
The stone ground in the museum is black granite. As far as the Neolithic period, the inscriptions are close to the masterpieces of contemporary masters, and they are the only stone tablet forest in China. It is the second largest monument exhibition hall in China. It is also engraved with works of famous contemporary artists such as Zhang Xueliang, Zhao Puchu, Zhou Erfu, Yao xueyin, Shen Peng and Liu Bingsen.
Liaohe stele forest
Liaohe stele forest is located in the west end of Panjin Lakeside Park in Liaohe Delta, which is composed of stele exhibition area, sightseeing area and tourism service area. Liaohe stele forest is the largest antique building in Northeast China so far. It collects 2000-3000 pieces of exquisite stele inscriptions from Chinese characters, oracle bone inscriptions to calligraphers of all dynasties. It is the largest and only stele forest in China.

It not only collects and displays contemporary high-grade calligraphy works, but also introduces ancient and modern calligraphy masterpieces. It has a warm calligraphy atmosphere The atmosphere and elegant three-dimensional environment create an "art Grand View Garden" with local characteristics, forest of Steles and gardens, and rich cultural connotation.
Now presented in front of visitors, "Liaohe stele forest" can be described as a collection of fine works. "Liaohe stele forest" has several "national firsts". It is the first stele forest of calligraphy from ancient times to the present, the first stele forest of inscriptions of ancient characters, the first stele forest of inscriptions of oracle bone inscriptions, the first stele forest of inscriptions of bamboo slips of Han Dynasty, the first stele forest of inscriptions of excellent calligraphy of both positive and negative characters in history, and the first special stele forest in China“ It is a comprehensive forest of steles. This forest of Steles, covering an area of 730 mu, is the largest forest of Steles in China.
Collection in the Museum
The ancient Museum of Liaohe stele forest collects calligraphy treasures from the ancient Chinese society. There are ancient hieroglyphs such as "sun, cloud and mountain", four representative oracle bone inscriptions of the early, middle and late periods selected from 150000 oracle bone inscriptions, and bamboo slips of the Han Dynasty unearthed from Mawangdui, Changsha. Not only that, "Liaohe stele forest" in the selection of works, but also strictly adhere to such a principle. That is to say, all those who have been engraved before are not selected, so what we see in the "Liaohe stele forest" is the first one engraved in Leshi.
Another significant feature of the "Liaohe stele forest" is that it neither discards the text nor enters the stele because of people. As long as the words are good, whether it is the emperor and minister, or the common people in Buyi, whether it is a controversial historical figure, or a great man who has made great achievements and is famous in history, they can be selected, otherwise they will not be mentioned. Therefore, in the "Liaohe stele forest", we can see Wang Xizhi, Su Shi and Huai Su Calligraphy works of song Huizong, Cixi, Li Hongzhang, Jiang Jieshi and Zhang Qun can also be seen. Therefore, "Liaohe stele forest" selects the real "calligraphy celebrities" instead of "celebrity calligraphy". Therefore, Kong Decheng, a descendant of Confucius, wrote the inscription "the first forest of Steles in China" for "Liaohe forest of Steles".
