Honggu mountain is a famous mountain in Linwu mountain of South Taihang, located 13 kilometers southwest of Linzhou city. The scenic area is about 10 square kilometers, rich in tourism resources. The natural scenery of Honggu mountain is very beautiful. It is surrounded by mountains and water, surrounded by peaks and covered with greenery. There is a deep valley in the middle, which flows continuously for many years. There are three waterfalls at the bottom of the valley, and the mountains and waters fall down like a roll of long yarn. In spring, the mountains are full of yellow flowers and gold; in autumn, the maple leaves are red with frost.

Introduction to scenic spots

Honggu mountain has a long history and splendid historic sites. Honggu temple was built in Gaoyang by Emperor Wenxuan of the Northern Qi Dynasty, where many monks traveled to hang tin. Quandeng Temple grottoes of the Northern Qi Dynasty were built on a cliff, surrounded by white clouds and mysterious. Jing Hao, a landscape painter of the Five Dynasties, and his disciple Guan Quan bought several acres of land here, worked hard to feed and bathed in the mountain light, becoming the first masters of landscape painting. Xie Sicong, the magistrate of the Ming Dynasty, opened a canal to divert water and created the earliest water conservancy project in Linzhou—— Xiegong canal. Now (2008) still exists. Moyan pagoda, Qianfo cave and Jindeng Temple grottoes of the Northern Wei Dynasty; brick pagoda of the Tang Dynasty; Xiegong canal of the Ming Dynasty; Xiegong Temple of the Qing Dynasty and tablet inscriptions of various dynasties and other important cultural relics, including five provincial cultural relics and two municipal cultural relics, are good places for tourists to rest and visit.
