Jinshanling Great Wall (Beijing section)

Jinshanling Great Wall, one of the most representative sections of the Great Wall, is located at the junction of Luanping county in Hebei Province and Miyun County in Beijing.

It was built in the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368 A.D.) and was presided over by General Xu Da. In the first year of Longqing (1567 AD), Qi Jiguang, the commander of Jizhen, a famous Anti Japanese general, and Tan Lun, the governor of Jiliao, continued to build and rebuild the Great Wall built by Xu Da.

Jinshan mountain the Great Wall is strategically located, with broad vision, strict preciseness and magnificent building. It is the essence of the Great Wall in China.

At an altitude of 700 meters, you can see mountains like waves in the north, Simatai reservoir like a mirror in the East and Miyun Reservoir in the south. The Great Wall is close to the mountains and dangerous, ups and downs between the mountains and rivers, the situation is extremely magnificent. In particular, the enemy towers here are dense, exquisitely constructed and in various forms, which are incomparable to the Great Wall in Badaling, Shanhaiguan and Jiayuguan. It is one of the tourist attractions of the Great Wall.

Traffic information: 1. Jinshanling Great Wall one-day tour line: there is a one-day tour bus at Wangjing west station (exit C of line 15, coming out to cross the road). It starts at 8:00 a.m. from April 2 to November 15 every year, and returns at 15:00 that day. It takes 2 hours, 120 yuan per person, including scenic spot tickets, cableway and round-trip tickets. 2. Take 980 from Dongzhimen bus station to Miyun Great Wall roundabout, 15 yuan / person, 4% off the bus card, 6 yuan / person, and then transfer the car or charter to Gubeikou, about 90 yuan. It's about 45 yuan from Gubeikou to Jinshanling.

3. Take 980 bus at Dongzhimen bus station and get off at Miyun children's palace station for about 1 hour. After getting off, go straight ahead, turn right 200m at the traffic lights, transfer to MI 25 bus at China Mobile building and get off at Gubeikou station, then transfer to minibus to Jinshanling.

4. Self driving: Take Beijing Chengde expressway, pay 65 yuan high-speed fee at Simatai toll station, issue a card, enter Hebei boundary, enter G45 Daguang Expressway, pass qilinlou tunnel, and then go 2.5km to Jinshanling scenic area service station, never drive forward to Jinshanling toll station, otherwise turn around at least 20km, and pay extra high-speed fee. A fork in the service area leads directly to Jinshanling. This is the newly developed east gate, while the main gate of the classic scenic spot needs to go on for 5km.

Note: it's about 2 hours' drive. There's no gas station or public toilet on the way. Make sure the fuel tank is full before departure, and don't drink more water. Otherwise, you can only wait until the service station of Jinshanling scenic spot.
